Claims
- 1. A method for making multiple deliveries of concrete from a front discharge transit truck before returning to a batching facility, comprising:
- providing a front discharge truck having a plurality of ground engagement members and an interactive weight system, the plurality of ground engagement members are coupled to the front discharge truck by suspension components including a plurality of fluid springs;
- charging the front discharge transit mixer with concrete;
- sensing the fluid pressure within each of the plurality of fluid springs and interpreting the fluid pressure information onboard the front discharge truck to obtain an initial total weight of the truck and concrete prior to delivery of a first quantity of concrete;
- discharging the first quantity of concrete at a first job;
- interfacing with the interactive weight system to sense the fluid pressure within each of the plurality of fluid springs and interpreting the fluid pressure information to quantify the first quantity of concrete discharged at the first job and capturing a first value for the first quantity in order to bill a first client;
- proceeding to a second job and discharging a second quantity of concrete; and
- interfacing with the interactive weight system to sense the fluid pressure within each of the plurality of fluid springs and interpreting the fluid pressure information to quantify the second quantity of concrete discharged at the second job and capturing a second value for the second quantity in order to bill a second client.
- 2. The method of claim 1, which further includes printing an invoice at one of the jobs.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein in said providing the front discharge truck includes a drum, and wherein said proceeding and said discharging can continue until the drum is empty.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein in said providing the front discharge truck includes a drum, and wherein an operator obtains an indication of the amount of concrete in the drum before and after each of said dischargings.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein said interfacing and said discharging allowing the separating of a load of concrete into multiple deliveries and wherein an accurate record of the quantity of concrete delivered at each location is maintained.
- 6. The method of claim 1, which further includes determining the slump of the concrete.
- 7. The method of claim 6, wherein said determining of the slump of the concrete is accomplished by interfacing with the interactive weight system.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein said interfacing includes pushing a preset button to obtain a value representing the quantity of concrete delivered at a location.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the interactive weight system includes a graphical display of the front discharge truck, and said interfacing involves pushing icons to communicate with the interactive weight system.
- 10. The method of claim 1:
- wherein in said providing the interactive weight system is onboard the truck;
- which further includes printing an invoice at one of the jobs; and
- which further includes storing data related to the invoice.
- 11. A method for making multiple delivers from a transit mixer, comprising:
- providing a front discharge transit mixer with a mixing drum having a discharge opening at one end and an interactive weight system, the front discharge truck including a plurality of ground engaging members coupled thereto by suspension components including a plurality of air springs;
- charging the mixing drum of the front discharge transit mixer with a load of material;
- sensing the pressure within each of the plurality of air springs;
- obtaining a weight of the transit mixer and load after said sensing by interpreting the air pressure from said sensing;
- discharging a first portion of the load at a first job;
- interfacing with the interactive weight system to sense the fluid pressure within each of the plurality of air springs and interpreting the air pressure to quantify the first portion;
- proceeding to a second job and discharging a second portion of the load at a second job; and
- interfacing with the interactive weight system to sense the fluid pressure within each of the plurality of air springs and interpreting the air pressure to quantify the second portion.
- 12. The method of claim 11, wherein in said providing the interactive weight system is onboard the transit mixer.
