Claims
- 1. A lens system, having a conjugate point comprising:
a first convex surface having a radius of curvature R; a first concave surface optically coupled to the first convex surface via a first material, the first concave surface positioned a distance substantially equal to R from the first convex surface; a second convex surface optically coupled to the first concave surface via a material having a lower index of refraction than the first material, the second convex surface positioned at least a distance equal to 0.05 R from the first concave surface.
- 2. The lens system of claim 1, further comprising a conjugate plane conjugate to the first conjugate point, and a photosensitive medium disposed at the conjugate plane.
- 3. The lens system of claim 2, wherein the photosensitive medium is a photographic emulsion.
- 4. The lens system of claim 2, wherein the photsensitive medium is an electronic photodetector.
- 5. The lens system of claim 1, wherein light from the conjugate point, which impinges the first convex surface, impinges the first concave surface at substantially at a single angle.
- 6. The lens system of claim 1, further comprising a fourth surface, wherein the first convex surface and the first concave surface form a first lens element, and the second convex surface and the fourth surface form a second lens element.
- 7. A lens array, comprising:
a plurality of lens systems, the lens systems comprising:
a first convex surface having a radius of curvature R; a first concave surface optically coupled to the first convex surface via a first material, the first concave surface positioned a distance substantially equal to R from the first convex surface; a second convex surface optically coupled to the first concave surface via a material having a lower index of refraction than the first material, the second convex surface positioned at least a distance equal to 0.05 R from the first concave surface.
- 8. The lens array of claim 7, wherein each of the lens systems further comprise a fourth surface, wherein the first convex surface and first concave surface of each of the plurality of lens system form a first lens element, and the second convex surface and the fourth surface of each of the plurality of lens system form a second lens element.
