Claims
- 1. An isolated monoclonal antibody which specifically binds to a human amyloid protein precursor homologue consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 13 from methionine, amino acid number 1, to isoleucine, amino acid number 763.
- 2. A hybridoma which produces the monoclonal antibody of claim 1.
- 3. An isolated monoclonal antibody which specifically binds to a human Kunitz-type inhibitor consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 from alanine, amino acid number 56 to alanine, amino acid number 110; the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 from aspartic acid, amino acid number 53 to alanine, amino acid number 110; or the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 from valine, amino acid number 57 to alanine, amino acid number 110 and which further contains a glutamic acid residue on the amino terminus.
- 4. A hybridoma which produces the monoclonal antibody of claim 3.
- 5. A method of producing an antibody comprising:
- inoculating a warm-blooded animal with a polypeptide immunogen from the group consisting of:
- (a) a human amyloid protein precursor homolog polypeptide of an amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO:13, from methionine, amino acid number 1, to isoleucine, amino acid number 763;
- (b) a human Kunitz-type inhibitor polypeptide with an amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO:2 from alanine, amino acid number 56 to alanine, amino acid number 110;
- (c) a human Kunitz-type inhibitor polypeptide with an amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO:2 from aspartic acid, amino acid number 53 to alanine, amino acid number 110; and
- (d) a human Kunitz-type inhibitor polypeptide with an amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO:2 from valine, amino acid number 57 to alanine, amino acid number 110 and which further contains a glutamic acid residue on the amino terminus,
- wherein antibodies are generated in the animal; and
- isolating the antibody from the animal.
- 6. An isolated monoclonal antibody produced by the method of claim 5 which specifically binds to a human amyloid protein precursor homologue consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:13 from methionine, amino acid number 1, to isoleucine, amino acid number 763.
- 7. An isolated monoclonal antibody produced by the method of claim 5 which specifically binds to a human Kunitz-type inhibitor consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 from alanine, amino acid number 56 to alanine, amino acid number 110; the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 from aspartic acid, amino acid number 53 to alanine, amino acid number 110; or the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 from valine, amino acid number 57 to alanine, amino acid number 110 and which further contains a glutamic acid residue on the amino terminus.
