Claims
- 1. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a photoconductive drum;
- a charge roller contacting said photoconductive drum to be rotated by said photoconductive drum;
- exposing means for exposing a surface of said photoconductive drum charged by said charge roller;
- developing means for developing a latent image electrostatically formed on said photoconductive drum by said exposing means;
- a bias power source circuit for applying a bias voltage to said developing means; and a thermistor built in said bias power source circuit for sensing temperature around said charge roller.
- 2. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a photoconductive drum;
- a charge roller contacting said photoconductive drum to be rotated by said photoconductive drum;
- exposing means for exposing a surface of said photoconductive drum charged by said charge roller;
- developing means for developing a latent image electrostatically formed on said photoconductive drum by said exposing means to produce a visible image;
- transferring means for transferring the visible image to a recording medium;
- fixing means for fixing the visible image transferred to the recording medium by heat; and
- heat conducting means for conducting heat generated by said fixing means to said charge roller to thereby control surface temperature of said charge roller.
- 3. An apparatus as claimed in claim 2, wherein said charge roller has a black surface.
- 4. In a charging device incorporated in an image forming apparatus for uniformly charging a surface of a photoconductive drum by applying a voltage to a charge roller which is held in contact with and rotated by said photoconductive drum, a thermistor for sensing temperature around said charge roller is built in a DC voltage power source circuit which applies a DC voltage to said charge roller.
- 5. A device as claimed in claim 4, wherein a cleaning member is held in contact with the surface of said charge roller.
- 6. In a charging device for an image forming apparatus, a heater for preventing dew condensation is located near a charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber to thereby maintain a surface of said charge roller at an adequate temperature.
- 7. In a charging device for an image forming apparatus, a cleaning member is held in contact with a charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber, said cleaning member being rotated before actual image formation to thereby maintain a surface of said charge roller at an adequate temperature, wherein the adequate temperature is higher than 10 degrees centigrade.
- 8. In a charging device for an image forming apparatus, temperature sensing means is located near a charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber, a DC voltage controlled on the basis of the temperature sensed by said temperature sensing means being applied to said charge roller.
- 9. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a photoconductive drum;
- a charge roller contacting said photoconductive drum to be rotated by said photoconductive drum, said charge roller having an elastic layer formed of polar rubber;
- exposing means for exposing a surface of said photoconductive drum charged by said charge roller;
- developing means for developing a latent image electrostatically formed on said photoconductive drum by said exposing means to produce a visible image;
- transferring means for transferring the visible image to a recording medium;
- fixing means for fixing the visible image transferred to the recording medium by heat; and
- heat conducting means for conducting heat generated by said fixing means to said charge roller.
- 10. An apparatus as claimed in claim 9, wherein said charge roller has a black surface.
- 11. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a photoconductive drum;
- a charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber;
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller, the charge roller being rotated in contact with the cleaning member before actual image formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature, wherein the predetermined temperature is 10 degrees centigrade.
- 12. The image forming apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the charge roller has a black surface.
- 13. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a photoconductive drum;
- a charge roller contacting said photoconductive drum to be rotated by said photoconductive drum;
- exposing means for exposing a surface of said photoconductive drum charged by said charge roller;
- developing means for developing a latent image electrostatically formed on said photoconductive drum by said exposing means;
- temperature sensing means for sensing temperature around said charge roller; and
- control means for controlling at least one of a voltage to be applied to said charge roller and a bias for development to be applied to said developing means on the basis of the temperature sensed by said temperature sensing means,
- wherein when the temperature sensing means senses that an ambient temperature rises, the control means controls the voltage to be applied to the charge roller to be lowered.
- 14. The image forming apparatus according to claim 8, wherein when the temperature sensing means senses that an ambient temperature rises, the voltage to be applied to the charge roller is lowered.
