Claims
- 1. An image recording apparatus for recording an image on a recording medium by causing a recording head having the arrangement of a plurality of recording elements to conduct its main scanning for the recording medium interrelatedly in the direction different from said arrangement, comprising:
setting means to set the number of main scannings by said recording head; main scanning means to perform recording by plural numbers of main scannings with respect to one pixel by causing said recording head to conduct its main scannings for the same recording area of said recording medium in accordance with the number set by said setting means; and sub-scanning means to cause said recording head and said recording medium to be sub-scanned interrelatedly per said main scanning in an amount smaller than the width of the arrangement of the recording elements of said recording head.
- 2. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said setting means sets the number of main scannings by said recording head in accordance with the image data to be recorded.
- 3. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 1 further comprising:
reading means to read the recorded image by said recording head, wherein said setting means to set the number of the main scannings by said recording head in accordance with the image data read by said reading means.
- 4. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said main scanning means performs recording by changing recording elements to be used for recording for each of the recording main scannings.
- 5. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said recording head is an ink jet recording head for performing recording by ejecting ink.
- 6. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said recording head is a recording head utilizing thermal energy for ink ejection and is provided with thermal energy transducers to generate thermal energy given to ink.
- 7. An image recording method comprising the steps of:
providing an image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 1; and recording an image by giving ink to a recording medium using said image recording apparatus.
- 8. An image recording method as claimed in claim 7 further including a step of:
fixing ink given to said recording medium to said recording medium.
- 9. An image recording method as claimed in claim 8 further including a step of:
performing a cleaning process for the recorded recording medium subsequent to said fixation process.
- 10. An image recording method as claimed in claim 7 further including a step of:
containing a preparatory agent in said recording medium before the recording by said image recording apparatus.
- 11. An image recording method as claimed in claim 7, wherein said recording head is an ink jet recording head for performing recording by ejecting ink.
- 12. An image recording method as claimed in claim 7, wherein said recording head is a recording head utilizing thermal energy for ink ejection and is provided with thermal energy transducers to generate thermal energy given to ink.
- 13. An image recording method as claimed in claim 7, wherein said recording medium is cotton and silk.
- 14. An image recording method as claimed in claim 8, wherein said recording medium is cotton and silk.
- 15. An image recording method as claimed in claim 7, wherein said recording medium is a wall paper.
- 16. A recorded matter obtainable by implementing at least an image recording method according to claim 7.
- 17. An image recording apparatus for recording an image on a recording medium by causing a recording head having the arrangement of a plurality of recording elements to scan the recording medium interrelatedly, comprising:
recording means to cause said recording head to scan the recording area of said recording medium interrelatedly for plural times for recording; reading means to read the recording image recorded on said recording medium by scanning the recording area of said recording medium together with said recording head interrelatedly when the recording is executed by said recording means; determining means to discriminate a defectively recorded area by comparing the recorded image read by said reading means and the image information to be recorded essentially; and complementary recording means to complementarily record the defectively recorded area discriminated by said determining means at the time of subsequent scanning by said recording head.
- 18. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 17, further comprising:
a complementary head to record complementarily the defectively recorded area discriminated by said determining means subsequent to the recording by said recording means by scanning the recording area of said recording medium interrelatedly following said reading means.
- 19. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 17, wherein said complementary recording means performs its complementary recording by lowering the driving frequency of said recording head.
- 20. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 17, wherein said reading means detects the density of the recorded image on said recording medium, and said determining means discriminates a position having a defective recording density by comparing the density of the recorded image read by said reading means and the density of the image information to be recorded essentially, and said complementary recording means complementarily record the defectively densified area discriminated by said determining means by said recording head in the subsequent scanning.
- 21. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 20, wherein said complementary recording means performs the complementary recording by changing the driving voltage of said recording head.
- 22. An image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 20, wherein said determining means discriminates a defectively recorded area and a defective recording element, and said complementary recording means records said defectively recorded area by a normal recording element by modifying the position of said recording element when said recording head is in its returning operation.
- 23. An image recording method as claimed in claim 17, wherein said recording head is an ink jet recording head for performing recording by ejecting ink.
- 24. An image recording method as claimed in claim 17, wherein said recording head is a recording head utilizing thermal energy for ink ejection and is provided with thermal energy transducers to generate thermal energy given to ink.
- 25. An image recording method comprising the steps of:
providing an image recording apparatus as claimed in claim 17; and recording an image by giving ink to a recording medium using said image recording apparatus.
- 26. An image recording method as claimed in claim 25 further including a step of:
fixing ink given to said recording medium to said recording medium.
- 27. An image recording method as claimed in claim 26 further including a step of:
performing a cleaning process for the recorded recording medium subsequent to said fixation process.
- 28. An image recording method as claimed in claim 25 further including a step of:
containing a preparatory agent in said recording medium before the recording by said image recording apparatus.
- 29. An image recording method as claimed in claim 25, wherein said recording head is an ink jet recording head for performing recording by ejecting ink.
- 30. An image recording method as claimed in claim 25, wherein said recording head is a recording head utilizing thermal energy for ink ejection and is provided with thermal energy transducers to generate thermal energy given to ink.
- 31. An image recording method as claimed in claim 25, wherein said recording medium is cotton and silk.
- 32. An image recording method as claimed in claim 26, wherein said recording medium is cotton and silk.
- 33. An image recording method as claimed in claim 25, wherein said recording medium is a wall paper.
- 34. A recorded material obtainable by implementing at least an image recording method according to claim 25.
- 35. A processed product obtained by further processing the recorded material as defined in claim 34.
- 36. A processed product according to claim 35, wherein said processed product is prepared by dividing said recorded material into pieces each having a disired size and adding a final treatment to said divided pieces.
