Claims
- 1. A method for protection against gastrointestinal bacteria, Epstein-Barr and influenza viruses that comprises administering an effective amount of an isolated and purified sialic acid-conjugated peptide to a patient in need thereof, wherein the sialic acid-conjugated peptide is a glycomacropeptide obtained by reacting rennet or pesin with .kappa.-casein, cow milk, reconstituted milk or casein at pH 5.5-5.6.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the sialic acid-conjugated peptide is a glycomacropeptide obtained by reacting rennet with .kappa.-casein at pH 5.5-5.6.
