Claims
- 1. An information recording apparatus for recording information to an optical recording medium including, a disk-like substrate, a spiral or concentric-shaped groove structure along tracks formed on the disk-like substrate, each of the tracks being divided into a plurality of recording units, each of the recording units including a dropout portion of the groove structure along the track in a circumferential direction of the track, the dropout portion being a non-groove portion, and the groove structure being wobbled in a fixed cycle in a radial direction, the fixed cycle of the wobble continuing in the circumferential direction along the track, wherein when the wobble is formed in the circumferential direction of the track, the dropout portion is formed so that a phase of the wobble is continued with a phase of the wobble of the groove structure within another recording unit adjacent to the dropout portion, the information recording apparatus comprising:an irradiation source for irradiating a light spot on the optical recording medium; and control means for controlling an irradiation position of an optical spot from the irradiation source.
- 2. An information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein the dropout portion is provided at one of a front and rear of the recording unit.
- 3. An information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein each length of the recording units is an integer multiple of a cycle of the wobble.
- 4. An information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein the medium is divided into a plurality of groups in the radial direction, an arc length of each of the groups being equivalent.
- 5. An information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein the recording unit is radially divided as arc-like portions delimited by the same central angle in the radial direction.
- 6. An information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein starting positions of the wobble on each of the recording units are aligned in the radial direction.
- 7. An information recording medium according to claim 6, wherein the wobbles in the starting positions are formed so as to become sinusoidal wave-like forms which initially move simultaneously.
- 8. An information recording apparatus for recording information to an optical recording medium including a disk-like substrate, a spiral or concentric-shaped groove structure along tracks formed on a disk-like substrate, each of the tracks being divided into a plurality of recording units, each of the recording units including a dropout portion of the groove structure along the track in a circumferential direction of the track, the dropout portion being a non-groove portion, and the groove structure being wobbled in a fixed cycle in a radial direction, the fixed cycle of the wobble continuing in the circumferential direction along the track, wherein when the wobble is formed in the circumferential direction of the track, the dropout portion is formed so that a phase of the wobble is continued with a phase of the wobble of the groove structure within another recording unit adjacent to the dropout portion, and each length of the recording units is an integer multiple of the cycle of the wobble, the information recording apparatus comprising:an irradiation source for irradiating a light spot on the optical recording medium; and control means for controlling an irradiation position of an optical spot from the irradiation source.
