The present invention relates generally to the field of tissues. More specifically, the present invention relates to an infused tissue device that is comprised of a tissue box and a plurality of tissues within the box. The tissues are infused with aromatherapeutic scents to promote feelings of wellness, to alleviate anxiety, and/or to promote wellness in the immune system. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices and methods of manufacture.
The need to use a tissue can result from a variety of reasons ranging from an emotional instability to allergies. However, tissue usage is often a quick fix to an underlying problem that is not addressed in the process of tissue usage. In recent years, aromatherapy has increased in popularity and has been used as a mood stabilizer, relaxant and antihistamine. Essential oil diffusion has become a common practice in emergency rooms, nursing homes and preschools to curb anxiety and induce feelings of relaxation. Furthermore, the molecular properties of these aromatherapeutic oils and herbs aid in identifying new uses in society. For example, lavender oil specifically contains two primary compounds called terpenoids, which are known to interact with serotonin receptors targeted for anxiety medication. Lavender oil inhibits the activity of these receptors, thus mimicking the same mechanism of action behind many anti-anxiety medications. Additionally, there lies substantial evidence in the field of aromatherapy that essential oils derived from herbal plants and citrus fruits can suppress allergic and inflammatory responses, which are both common reasons why an individual may be inclined to use a tissue to blow his or her nose. Additionally, lavender and peppermint oil have both been shown to act as natural antihistamines, which is the main ingredient in many allergy medications. Lemon oil has also been demonstrated to have mucolytic properties, helping to loosen mucus in airways and in sinuses. Thus, many aromatherapeutic scents and oils contain properties that often coincide with the reason behind why an individual needs a tissue. In addition, many individuals simply enjoy the smell of essential oils and similar fragrances, which they may use to relax or improve their emotional state.
