Claims
- 1. An image recording apparatus comprising:
- a platen for supporting an object to be recorded;
- a printing head having a predetermined head print width;
- main scanning means for scanning said printing head along said platen in a main scanning direction;
- subscanning means for displacing the object in a subscanning direction;
- a paper holding member for inserting the object between said platen and said printing head;
- calculating means for calculating a print width of a last line of the object; and
- control means for controlling said subscanning means to displace the last line print width calculated by said calculating means to a position before the last line.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the last line print width calculated by said calculating means is a last line remaining width, shorter than a predetermined print width.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising operating means for setting copying area information and for outputting the set information to said calculating means.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said platen comprises suction holes for drawing the object by suction, the suction holes provided in a portion of said platen which opposes said print head.
- 5. An image forming apparatus for sequentially scanning a print head in a main scanning direction and an object to be recorded in a subscanning direction, thereby forming an image on the object, said image forming apparatus comprising:
- calculating means for calculating a print width formed at a last line; and
- displacing means for displacing the print width calculated by said calculating means before the last line and for reducing a suction area of the object on a platen during printing of the last line.
- 6. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said printing head comprises an ink jet recording head.
- 7. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said printing head comprises a bubble jet recording system ink jet recording head.
- 8. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said recording apparatus comprises a color recording apparatus for performing color recording, and further comprising an additional printing head provided integral to said printing head, and said main scanning means scanning the printing heads in the main scanning direction.
- 9. An image recording apparatus according to claim 8, wherein said printing head comprises an ink jet recording head.
- 10. An image recording apparatus according to claim 8, wherein said printing head comprises a bubble jet recording system ink jet recording head.
- 11. An image recording apparatus for recording by scanning an ink jet recording head, said recording apparatus comprising:
- a first recording mode for manually supplying a recording medium into said recording apparatus;
- a second recording mode for automatically supplying a recording medium into said recording apparatus; and
- control means for controlling a recording width of said ink jet recording head in said first and second recording modes, said control means controlling the recording width in said first recording mode during a recording scan such that the recording width with respect to an end portion of the recording medium in a conveying direction is different from the recording width in a previous recording and said control means maintaining the recording width constant in said second recording mode.
- 12. An image recording apparatus according to claim 11, wherein said recording head comprises a bubble jet recording system ink jet recording head.
- 13. An image recording apparatus according to claim 12, wherein said recording apparatus comprises a color recording apparatus for performing color recording, and further comprising an additional printing head provided integral to said recording head for scanning in a main scanning direction.
- 14. An image recording apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the recording width at the end portion is smaller than the recording width of the recording scan.
- 15. An image recording apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the recording width at the end portion is smaller than the recording width of the recording scan, and wherein said recording apparatus further comprises a reading device for reading an original and a copying device for recording in accordance with information read by said reading device.
- 16. An image recording apparatus according to claim 11, wherein said recording apparatus further comprises a suction conveying device for conveying the recording medium spaced apart from said recording head.
- 17. An image recording apparatus for recording by scanning an ink jet recording head, said apparatus comprising:
- a supply device for supplying a recording medium to be recorded into the recording apparatus; and
- control means for controlling a recording width of said ink jet recording head during first and second recording modes, said control means controlling the recording width in accordance with said supply device in such a manner that the recording width of a recording scan with respect to an end portion of the recording medium in a conveying direction is different from the recording width of at least one previous recording.
- 18. An image recording apparatus according to claim 17, wherein said recording head comprises a bubble jet recording system ink jet recording head.
- 19. An image recording apparatus according to claim 18, wherein said recording apparatus comprises a color recording apparatus for performing color recording, and further comprising a printing head provided integral to said recording head for scanning in a main scanning direction.
- 20. An image recording apparatus for recording by scanning an ink jet recording head, said apparatus comprising:
- a supply device for supplying a recording medium to be recorded into said recording apparatus; and
- control means for controlling a recording width of said ink jet recording head during first and second recording modes by calculating the recording width of a recording scan with respect to an end portion of the recording medium in the conveying direction, said control means controlling the recording width in a recording scan such that the recording width with respect to an end portion of the recording medium in a conveying direction is different from the recording width of at least one previous recording, the recording width of the previous recording scan being smaller than the recording width of a recording scan with respect to the end portion.
- 21. An image recording apparatus according to claim 20, wherein said recording head comprises a bubble jet recording system ink jet recording head.
- 22. An image recording apparatus according to claim 21, wherein said recording apparatus comprises a color recording apparatus for performing color recording, and further comprising an additional printing head integral to said recording head for scanning in a main scanning direction.
