Claims
- 1. An adjusting device for adjusting an ink-jet head unit having a plurality of ink-jet heads each of which discharges ink of a different color, each of the ink-jet heads having a nozzle array including a plurality of nozzles each of which discharges ink of the same color, the ink-jet head unit being used for manufacturing a color filter, having a plurality of pixel lines, by discharging inks and coloring a color filter substrate while scanning the ink-jet head unit relative to the color filter substrate in an X-direction, said adjusting device comprising:angle adjusting means for adjusting angles of the ink-jet heads with respect to the X-direction so that a distance between nozzles used in one of the ink-jet heads in a Y-direction perpendicular to the pixel lines along with the X-direction matches a distance between adjacent pixel lines, corresponding to a color of the ink-jet head, in the Y-direction, and position adjusting means for adjusting positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads in a nozzle-array direction by moving the ink-jet heads in the nozzle array direction so that each of the pixel lines on the color filter substrate can be colored by inks of each color discharged from each of the ink-jet heads, wherein the nozzle array direction is a direction along a longitudinal length of the nozzle arrays, and wherein the pixel lines on the color filter substrate serve as a color filtering portion.
- 2. The adjusting device according to claim 1, further comprising a camera for reading an adjustment pattern formed by discharging ink from the ink-jet head unit.
- 3. The adjusting device according to claim 2, further comprising scanning means for scanning said camera relative to the substrate, wherein said camera is a line sensor camera.
- 4. The adjusting device according to claim 1, wherein the position adjusting means adjusts the positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads after said angle adjusting means adjusts the angles of the ink jet heads by rotating the ink-jet head unit.
- 5. The adjusting device according to claim 1, wherein said position adjusting means adjusts the positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads after said angle adjusting means adjusts the angles of the ink jet heads by rotating the ink-jet head simultaneously.
- 6. The adjusting device according to claim 1, wherein said angle adjusting means roughly adjusts the angles of the ink-jet heads by rotating the ink-jet heads simultaneously and finely adjusts the angles of the ink-jet heads by rotating the ink-jet heads independently.
- 7. An adjusting method of adjusting an ink-jet head unit having a plurality of ink-jet heads each of which discharges ink of a different color, each of the ink-jet heads having a nozzle array including a plurality of nozzles each of which discharges ink of the same color, the ink-jet head unit being used for manufacturing a color filter, having a plurality of pixel lines, by discharging inks and coloring a color filter substrate while scanning the ink-jet head unit relative to the color filter substrate in an X-direction, said adjusting method comprising the steps of:adjusting angles of the ink-jet heads with respect to the X-direction so that a distance between nozzles used in one of the ink-jet heads in a Y-direction perpendicular to the pixel lines along with the X-direction matches a distance between adjacent pixel lines, corresponding to a color of the ink-jet head, in the Y-direction, and adjusting positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads in a nozzle-array direction by moving the ink-jet heads in the nozzle array direction so that each of the pixel lines on the color filter substrate can be colored by inks of each color discharged from each of the ink-jet heads, wherein the nozzle array direction is a direction along a longitudinal length of the nozzle arrays, and wherein the pixel lines on the color filter substrate serve as a color filtering portion.
- 8. The adjusting method according to claim 7, wherein said angle adjusting step comprises a step of reading an adjustment pattern, formed by discharging ink from the ink-jet head unit, by a camera and adjusting the angle of the ink-jet head unit based on a read result.
- 9. The adjusting method according to claim 7, wherein the positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads are adjusted in said position adjusting step after the angles of the ink-jet heads are adjusted by rotating the ink-jet head unit in said angle adjusting step.
- 10. The adjusting method according to claim 7, wherein the positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads are adjusted in said position adjusting step after the angles of the ink-jet heads are adjusted by rotating the ink-jet heads simultaneously in said angle adjusting step.
- 11. The adjusting method according to claim 7, wherein, in said angle adjusting step, the angles of the ink-jet heads are roughly adjusted by rotating the ink-jet heads simultaneously and the angles of the ink-jet heads are finely adjusted by rotating the ink-jet heads independently.
- 12. An adjusting device for adjusting an ink-jet head unit having a plurality of ink-jet heads each of which discharges ink of a different color, each of the ink-jet heads having a nozzle array including a plurality of nozzles each of which discharges ink of the same color, the ink-jet head unit used for manufacturing a color filter, having a plurality of pixel lines, by discharging inks and coloring a color filter substrate while scanning the ink-jet head unit relative to the color filter substrate in an X-direction, said adjusting device comprising:read means for reading an ink discharge amount measurement pattern formed by discharging ink from the plurality of nozzles; generation means for generating ink discharge density data for coloring each of the pixel lines such that each of the pixel lines has equal density, based on a result of reading by said read means; angle adjusting means for adjusting angles of the ink-jet heads with respect to the X-direction so that a distance between nozzles used in one of the ink-jet heads in a Y-direction perpendicular to the pixel lines along with the X-direction matches a distance between adjacent pixel lines, corresponding to a color of the ink-jet head, in the Y-direction, and position adjusting means for adjusting positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads in a nozzle-array direction by moving the ink-jet heads in the nozzle array direction so that each of the pixel lines on the color filter substrate can be colored by inks of each color discharged from each of the ink-jet heads, wherein the nozzle array direction is a direction along a longitudinal length of the nozzle arrays, and wherein the pixel lines on the color filter substrate serve as a color filtering portion.
- 13. An adjusting method of adjusting an ink-jet head unit having a plurality of ink-jet heads each of which discharges ink of a different color, each of the ink-jet heads having a nozzle array including a plurality of nozzles each of which discharges ink of the same color, the ink-jet head unit being used for manufacturing a color filter, having a plurality of pixel lines, by discharging inks and coloring a color filter substrate while scanning the ink-jet head unit relative to the color filter substrate in an X-direction, said method comprising the steps of:reading an ink discharge amount measurement pattern formed by discharging ink from the plurality of nozzles; generating ink discharge density data for coloring each of the pixel lines such that each of the pixel lines has equal density, based on a read result of said read step; adjusting angles of the ink-jet heads with respect to the X-direction so that a distance between nozzles used in one of the ink-jet heads in a Y-direction perpendicular to the pixel lines along with the X-direction matches a distance between adjacent pixel lines, corresponding to a color of the ink-jet head, in the Y-direction, and adjusting positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads in a nozzle-array direction by moving the ink-jet heads in the nozzle array direction so that each of the pixel lines on the color filter substrate can be colored by inks of each color discharged from each of the ink-jet heads, wherein the nozzle array direction is a direction along a longitudinal length of the nozzle arrays, and wherein the pixel lines on the color filter substrate serve as a color filtering portion.
- 14. An ink-jet head unit used for manufacturing a color filter, having a plurality of pixel lines, by discharging inks and coloring a color filter substrate while scanning said ink-jet head unit relative to the color filter substrate in an X-direction, said ink-jet head unit comprising:a plurality of ink-jet heads each of which discharges ink of a different color, each of said ink-jet heads having a nozzle array including a plurality of nozzles each of which discharges ink of the same color; angle adjusting means for adjusting angles of said ink-jet heads with respect to the X-direction so that a distance between nozzles used in one of said ink-jet heads in a Y-direction perpendicular to the pixel lines along with the X-direction matches a distance between adjacent pixel lines, corresponding to a color of said ink-jet head, in the Y-direction; and position adjusting means for adjusting positions of said nozzles of said ink-jet head in a nozzle-array direction by moving said ink-jet heads in the nozzle array direction so that each of the pixel lines on the color filter substrate can be colored by inks of each color discharged from each of said ink-jet heads, wherein the nozzle array direction is a direction along a longitudinal length of said nozzle arrays, and wherein the pixel lines on the color filter substrate serve as a color filtering portion.
- 15. The ink-jet head unit according to claim 14, wherein each of said ink-jet heads discharges an ink using heat energy, and each of said heads has a heat energy generator for generating the heat energy, which is applied to the ink.
- 16. An adjusting device for adjusting an ink-jet head unit having a plurality of ink-jet heads each of which discharges ink of a different color, each of the ink-jet heads having a nozzle array including a plurality of nozzles each of which discharges ink of the same color, the ink-jet head unit being used for discharging inks to a plurality of pixel lines on a substrate while scanning the ink-jet head unit relative to the substrate in an X-direction, said adjusting device comprising:angle adjusting means for adjusting angles of the ink-jet heads with respect to the X-direction so that a distance between nozzles used in one of the ink-jet heads in a Y-direction perpendicular to the pixel lines along with the X-direction matches a distance between adjacent pixel lines, corresponding to a color of the ink-jet head, in the Y-direction, and position adjusting means for adjusting positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads in a nozzle-array direction by moving the ink-jet heads in the nozzle array direction so that each of the pixel lines on the substrate can be colored by inks of each color discharged from each of the ink-jet heads, wherein the nozzle array direction is a direction along a longitudinal length of the nozzle arrays.
- 17. The adjusting device according to claim 16, wherein said position adjusting means adjusts the positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads after said angle adjusting means adjusts the angles of the ink-jet heads by rotating the ink-jet heads simultaneously.
- 18. The adjusting device according to claim 16, wherein said angle adjusting means roughly adjusts the angles of the ink-jet heads by rotating the ink-jet heads simultaneously and finely adjusts the angles of the ink-jet heads by rotating the ink-jet heads independently.
- 19. An adjusting method of adjusting an ink-jet head unit having a plurality of ink-jet heads each of which discharges ink of a different color, each of the ink-jet heads having a nozzle array including a plurality of nozzles each of which discharges ink of the same color, the ink-jet head unit being used for discharging inks to a plurality of pixel lines on a substrate while scanning the ink-jet head unit relative to the substrate in an X-direction, said adjusting method comprising the steps of:adjusting angles of the ink-jet heads with respect to the X-direction so that a distance between nozzles used in one of the ink-jet heads in a Y-direction perpendicular to the pixel lines along with the X-direction matches a distance between adjacent pixel lines, corresponding to a color of the ink-jet head, in the Y-direction, and adjusting positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads in a nozzle-array direction by moving the ink-jet heads in the nozzle array direction so that each of the pixel lines on the substrate can be colored by inks of each color discharged from each of the ink-jet heads, wherein the nozzle array direction is a direction along a longitudinal length of the nozzle arrays.
- 20. The adjusting method according to claim 19, wherein the positions of the nozzles of the ink-jet heads are adjusted in said position adjusting step after the angles of the ink-jet heads are adjusted by rotating the ink-jet heads simultaneously in said angle adjusting step.
- 21. The adjusting method according to claim 19, wherein, in said angle adjusting step, the angles of the ink-jet heads are roughly adjusted by rotating the ink-jet heads simultaneously and the angles of the ink-jet heads are finely adjusted by rotating the ink-jet heads independently.
- 22. An ink-jet head unit used for discharging inks to a plurality of pixel lines on a substrate while scanning said ink-jet head unit relative to the substrate in an X-direction, said ink-jet head unit comprising:a plurality of ink-jet heads each of which discharges ink of a different color, each of said ink-jet heads having a nozzle array including a plurality of nozzles each of which discharges ink of the same color; angle adjusting means for adjusting angles of said ink-jet heads with respect to the X-direction so that a distance between nozzles used in one of said ink-jet heads in a Y-direction perpendicular to the pixel lines along with the X-direction matches a distance between adjacent pixel lines, corresponding to color of said ink-jet head, in the Y-direction; and position adjusting means for adjusting positions of said nozzles of said ink-jet head in a nozzle-array direction by moving said ink-jet heads in the nozzle array direction so that each of the pixel lines on the substrate can be colored by inks of each color discharged from each of said ink-jet heads, wherein the nozzle array direction is a direction along a longitudinal length of said nozzle arrays.
