Claims
- 1. A liquid crystal display device for displaying an image expressed by display data comprising plural pieces of pixel data, which are sequentially inputted, comprising:
- a liquid crystal panel, including pixel parts having liquid crystals arranged in M rows and N columns;
- a liquid crystal driver, including:
- N storage element groups, each of which is provided corresponding to each of said N columns respectively, for capturing and storing the pieces of pixel data sequentially, inputted and then simultaneously outputting the pieces of pixel data stored therein when all pieces of pixel data for a complete row have been captured and stored,
- a voltage generator for changing each of the pieces of pixel data simultaneously outputted from said N storage element groups to a liquid crystal apply voltage, and
- N drain signal lines, each of which is provided corresponding to each of said N storage element groups respectively, each of said drain signal lines transferring the liquid crystal apply voltage according to a piece of pixel data outputted from a storage element group corresponding thereto to pixel parts of a column corresponding to the storage element group; and
- a scanning driver for sequentially selecting any one of said M rows in response to the simultaneously outputted pieces of pixel data, applying a select voltage to pixel parts of the selected row, and applying a de-select voltage to pixel parts of the other rows not selected,
- wherein the number of pieces Y of pixel data of the display data in the selected row is smaller than N, and
- wherein at least two of said storage element groups simultaneously capture and store a same piece of pixel data, whereby Y pieces of pixel data are changed to N pieces of pixel data, and then are simultaneously outputted from said N storage element groups.
- 2. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 1, wherein at least two of said storage element groups whose corresponding columns neighbor each other, simultaneously capture and store the same piece of pixel data.
- 3. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 1, further comprising changing means for changing the number of storage element groups simultaneously capturing and storing the same piece of pixel data.
- 4. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 1, wherein the number of pieces X of pixel data of the display data in a column is smaller than M,
- and said scanning driver, at least one time, simultaneously selects at least two of said M rows in response to the simultaneously outputted pieces of pixel data, applying a select voltage to pixel parts of the selected rows, and applying a de-select voltage to pixel parts of the other rows not selected at this time, whereby X*Y pieces of pixel data are changed to M*N pieces of pixel data, and then are displayed by said liquid crystal panel.
- 5. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 4, wherein said simultaneously selected rows are neighboring rows.
- 6. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 4, further comprising selected line number changing means for changing a number of lines simultaneously selected by said scanning driver.
- 7. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 2, further comprising changing means for changing the number of storage element groups simultaneously capturing and storing the same piece of pixel data.
- 8. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 5, further comprising selected line number changing means for changing a number of lines simultaneously selected by said scanning driver.
- 9. A liquid crystal display device for displaying an image expressed by display data comprising plural pieces of pixel data, which are sequentially inputted, comprising:
- a liquid crystal panel, including pixel parts having liquid crystals arranged in M rows and N columns;
- a liquid crystal driver, including:
- N storage element groups, each of which is provided corresponding to each of said N columns respectively, for capturing and storing the pieces of pixel data sequentially inputted, and then simultaneously outputting the pieces of pixel data stored therein when all pieces of pixel data for a complete row have been captured and stored,
- a voltage generator for changing each of the pieces of pixel data simultaneously outputted from said N storage element groups to a liquid crystal apply voltage, and
- N drain signal lines, each of which is provided corresponding to each of said N storage element groups respectively, each of said drain signal lines transferring the liquid crystal apply voltage according to a piece of pixel data outputted from a storage element group corresponding thereto to pixel parts of a column corresponding to the storage element group; and
- a scanning driver for sequentially selecting any one of said M rows in response to the simultaneously outputted pieces of pixel data, applying a select voltage to pixel parts of the selected row, and applying a de-select voltage to pixel parts of the other rows not selected,
- wherein the number of pieces Y of pixel data of the display data in the selected row is smaller than N, and
- said liquid crystal driver has a first data generator for generating a piece of interpolated pixel data, using a first arithmetic operation processing, on the basis of two pieces of pixel data sequentially inputted, and
- at least one of said storage element groups captures and stores the piece of interpolated pixel data so that a storage element group capturing and storing the piece of interpolated pixel data is located between two storage element groups each capturing and storing each of the two pieces of pixel data that are used in generating the piece of interpolated pixel data, whereby Y pieces of pixel data are changed to N pieces of pixel data, and then are simultaneously outputted from said N element groups.
- 10. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 9, wherein the number of pieces Y of pixel data of the display data in a horizontal line is smaller than M,
- wherein said scanning driver, for sequentially selecting any one of said M rows every X/M period of a horizontal frequency period of said display data, applies a select voltage to pixel parts of the selected row and applies a de-select voltage to pixel parts of the other rows not selected,
- said liquid crystal driver has a second data generator for generating N pieces of interpolated pixel data in a horizontal line, using a second arithmetic operation processing, on the basis of 2N pieces of pixel data in two horizontal lines of display data, and
- said N storage element groups capture and store the N pieces of interpolated pixel data at least one time, whereby X*Y pieces of pixel data are changed to M*N pieces of pixel data, and then are displayed by said liquid crystal panel.
- 11. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 10, wherein said second arithmetic operation processing multiplies each of the two pieces of pixel data neighboring each other in a vertical direction with pre-decided coefficients respectively, and adds the results.
- 12. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 9, wherein said first arithmetic operation processing multiplies each of the two pieces of pixel data sequentially inputted with pre-decided coefficients respectively, and adds the results.
- 13. A liquid crystal display device, comprising:
- a liquid crystal panel, including pixel parts having liquid crystals arranged in M rows and N columns, and a plurality of row signal lines and column signal lines connected to said pixel parts;
- a liquid crystal controller for capturing a display data synchronization signal and generating a liquid crystal driving synchronization signal based on said display data synchronization signal;
- a scanning driver for sequentially selecting each row of said liquid crystal panel so as to select all rows in the same period as a period for sending one picture portion of said display data in accordance with said liquid crystal driving synchronization signal, applying a select voltage to selected rows of pixel parts via said row signal lines, and applying de-select voltages to remaining rows of pixel parts; and
- a liquid crystal driver having storage means for capturing and storing said display data in accordance with said liquid crystal driving synchronization signal, for generating a liquid crystal apply voltage for displaying a display expressing said display data at pixel parts being applied with said select voltage based on display data for one row portion stored at said storage means, and applying said liquid crystal apply voltage to said pixel parts via said column signal lines,
- wherein said liquid crystal driver applies a liquid crystal apply voltage to said pixel parts based on the same one row portion of display data in a period of said scanning driver sequentially selecting a plurality of pre-decided neighboring rows;
- wherein the number of pieces Y of pixel data of the display data in the selected row is smaller than N, and wherein at least two of said storage element groups simultaneously capture and store a same piece of pixel data, whereby Y pieces of pixel data are changed to n pieces of pixel data, and then are simultaneously outputted from said storage element groups.
- 14. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 13, said storage means of said liquid crystal driver comprising:
- a first storage circuit for sequentially storing said captured display data in pixel units;
- a second storage circuit for simultaneously capturing and storing one row portion of display data stored at said first storage circuit in the same period as the period for storing one row portion of said display data at said first storage circuit; and
- a third storage circuit for simultaneously capturing and storing one row portion of display data stored in said second storage circuit during switching of the row selected by said scanning driver,
- wherein said liquid crystal driver generates said liquid crystal apply voltage based on display data stored by said third storage circuit, and the period of said third storage circuit capturing display data is shorter than the period of said first storage circuit storing one row portion of said display data.
- 15. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 14, further comprising means for changing a ratio a:b (where a and b are integers fulfilling a.gtoreq.b) of a period of said first storage circuit storing one row portion of said display data and a period of said third storage circuit capturing display data.
- 16. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 13, wherein said liquid crystal driver applies a liquid crystal apply voltage to pre-decided neighboring pluralities of columns of pixel parts based on one pixel portion of display data corresponding to a prescribed column within said one row portion of display data stored by said storage means.
- 17. The liquid crystal display device according to claim 16, further comprising means for changing said pre-decided neighboring plurality of columns and a prescribed column of display data for said one row portion of display data.
