Claims
- 1. A magnetic recording tape comprising:
- a ferromagnetic metal thin film formed on a protrusion layer comprising 10.sup.4 -10.sup.8 particles/mm.sup.2 on a substrate,
- a polymer film formed on said ferromagnetic metal thin film,
- a diamond-like carbon film with a Vickers hardness in a range of 3000-3500 kg/mm.sup.2 formed on said polymer film by plasma CVD method utilizing a.c. power (voltage Vac) in the frequency range of 80 Hz to 200 kHz which has peak voltage more than +500 V and hydrocarbon having at least 3 carbon atoms as material gas and d.c. power which superimposes on said a.c. power at a superimposing ratio R(%) of ##EQU3## and 20%.ltoreq.R.ltoreq.70% and said plasma CVD method further utilizes one inert gas selected from the group consisting of helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, radon, and
- a lubricant film consisting of:
- partially fluorinated alkyl carboxylic acid having a melting point from 50.degree. C. to 90.degree. C., on said diamond-like carbon film.
