Claims
- 1. A portable diving apparatus with a means for displaying to a diver critical safety information relating to depths and times, the information being displayed in a two dimensional Pictorial format and in a manner that provides the diver with a visual reference for his condition at the current depth in comparison with potential conditions at other times and depths where the diver may operate safely.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the display means is a two dimensional Pictorial Display including a graphic presentation of the position of the diver in depth and time and in relation to the various bounds of the Safe Operating Envelope and containing at least one of the following elements:
- a display format wherein the bounds of the Safe Operating Envelope are presented by lines; and
- a high density dot matrix display device wherein displayed information is formed by exciting certain dots in the dot matrix.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein the bounds of the Safe Operating Envelope are defined by at least two of the following elements:
- a representation of the Adjusted Remaining Air Time at various depths;
- a representation of the Safe Air Limit at various depths;
- a representation of the No-decompression Times at various depths;
- a representation of the Ceiling; and
- a representation of the water surface.
