Claims
- 1. A device configured to withdraw a sleeve with sandwich fixings therein from an opening in a bread bun while resisting the sandwich fixings from exiting the bun, the device comprising:
a) a holding area with a longitudinal axis configured to receive a sandwich with a sleeve therein; b) a gripper, disposed with respect to the holding area, configured to selectively grasp the sleeve when the sandwich is in the holding area; c) a stopper, associated with the holding area, positionable at the opening in the bread bun and at one end of the sleeve; and d) the gripper and the holding area with the stopper being displaceable with respect to one another along the longitudinal axis.
- 2. A device in accordance with claim 1, further comprising:
a sleeve, configured to be removably disposable within the cavity of a bread bun in the holding area.
- 3. A device in accordance with claim 1, wherein the gripper further includes:
a hook, configured to extend through a hole in the sleeve.
- 4. A device in accordance with claim 1, further comprising:
a carriage slidably disposed on at least one rail; and the gripper being attached to the carriage.
- 5. A device in accordance with claim 1, further comprising:
an elongated rod, disposed parallel with the longitudinal axis; and the stopper being disposed on an end of the rod.
- 6. A device in accordance with claim 1, wherein the holding area further includes:
an indentation sized and shaped to receive and hold the bread bun.
- 7. A method for withdrawing a sleeve with sandwich fixings therein from an opening in a bread bun while resisting the sandwich fixings from exiting the bun, comprising the steps of:
a) positioning a stopper at the opening in the bread bun and at one end of the sleeve; b) grasping the end of the sleeve with a gripper; c) displacing the gripper, and thus the sleeve, with respect to the bread bun; and d) maintaining the stopper relative to the bread bun, such that the sandwich fixings abut the stopper as the sleeve is withdrawn to resist the sandwich fixings from exiting the bun.
- 8. A method in accordance with claim 7, wherein the step of positioning a stopper further includes disposing the stopper on the end of an elongated rod; and wherein the step of displacing the gripper further includes displacing the sleeve over the stopper and the rod.
- 9. A method in accordance with claim 7, wherein the step of grasping the end of the sleeve further includes engaging a hole in the sleeve with a hook.
- 10. A method in accordance with claim 7, further comprising the steps of:
a) providing a pre-baked bread bun with an exterior crust; b) forming a cavity in the bread bun without an interior crust, and an opening in the exterior crust extending to the cavity; c) providing a plurality of layers of sandwich fixings in separate and arcuate layers; and d) inserting the plurality of layers of sandwich fixings through the opening and into the cavity of the bread bun thereby forming separate and arcuate layers of sandwich fixings in the cavity of the bread bun.
- 11. A method in accordance with claim 10, wherein the step of inserting the plurality of layers of sandwich fixings further includes the steps of:
a) providing a flexible sheet; b) placing the plurality of layers of sandwich fixings on the flexible sheet as a plurality of separate layers; c) rolling the flexible sheet into a sleeve with the plurality of separate layers of sandwich fixings therein; and d) inserting the sleeve and the plurality of separate layers of sandwich fixings into the cavity of the bread bun.
- 12. A device configured to withdraw a sleeve with sandwich fixings therein from an opening in a bread bun while resisting the sandwich fixings from exiting the bun, the device comprising:
a) a holding area with a longitudinal axis configured to receive a sandwich with a sleeve therein; b) a hook, disposed with respect to the holding area, configured to extend through a hole in the sleeve when the sleeve is in the holding area; c) a stopper, associated with the holding area, positionable at the opening in the bread bun and at one end of the sleeve; and d) the gripper and the holding area with the stopper being displaceable with respect to one another along the longitudinal axis.
- 13. A device in accordance with claim 12, further comprising:
a sleeve, configured to be removably disposable within the cavity of a bread bun in the holding area.
- 14. A device in accordance with claim 12, further comprising:
a carriage slidably disposed on at least one rail; and the gripper being attached to the carriage.
- 15. A device in accordance with claim 12, further comprising:
an elongated rod, disposed parallel with the longitudinal axis; and the stopper being disposed on an end of the rod.
- 16. A device in accordance with claim 12, wherein the holding area further includes:
an indentation sized and shaped to receive and hold the bread bun.
