Claims
- 1. A method for increasing the level of stem cells in the peripheral blood of a mammal which comprises administering to the mammal a pharmaceutical composition, said pharmaceutical composition comprising: a) a soluble c-kit ligan polypeptide, b) a hematopoietic factor or factors, and c) a suitable pharmaceutical carrier, said pharmaceutical composition administered in an effective amount to increase stem cell levels in the peripheral blood.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the hematopoietic factor or factors are selected from the group consisting of: interleukin 1 (IL-1), interleukin 3 (IL-3) interleukin 6 (IL-6), granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF), and granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF).
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the hematopoietic factor or factors are interleukin 1 (IL-1) and granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF).
- 4. The method of claim 2, wherein the hematopoietic factor or factors are interleukin 1 (IL-1) and granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF).
- 5. The method of claim 2, wherein the hematopoietic factor or factors are interleukin 1 (IL-1) and interleukin 3 (IL-3).
- 6. The method of claim 2, wherein the hematopoietic factor or factors are interleukin 1 (IL-1), interleukin 6 (IL-6), and granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF).
- 7. The method of claim 2, wherein the hematopoietic factor or factors are interleukin 1 (IL-1), interleukin 6 (IL-6), and granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF).
- 8. The method of claim 2, wherein the hematopoietic factor or factors are interleukin 1 (IL-1), interleukin 3 (IL-3), and interleukin 6 (IL-6).
