Claims
- 1. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool for forming transverse slits in a sheet, said rotary cutting tool being formed by a process comprising the step of:
- forming indentations, each indentation of the indentations in bottom surfaces of grooves arranged on an outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical body of a rotary cutting tool, the rotary cutting tool having an axis, the grooves being arranged generally parallel to the axis, being formed by a cutting edge of a cutting blade corresponding to a groove of the grooves, by deforming the bottom surface of the groove fitting the cutting edge of the corresponding cutting blade on the bottom surface of the groove.
- 2. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein, for each groove of the grooves, the indentation is formed by driving the cutting edge of the corresponding cutting blade into the groove.
- 3. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the bottom surfaces of the grooves are arranged at distances from the axis of the cylindrical body with a first deviation, and the cutting edges of the cutting blades are arranged at distances from the axis of the cylindrical body with a second deviation, the second deviation being smaller than the first deviation.
- 4. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the grooves are arranged at a circumferential pitch smaller than 5 millimeters.
- 5. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool according to claim 4, wherein the grooves are arranged at a circumferential pitch smaller than 3.0 millimeters.
- 6. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the grooves extend at a small angle relative to the axis of the cylindrical body.
- 7. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the cutting blades are heated.
- 8. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the cylindrical body comprises copper alloy, and the cutting blades comprise high-speed steel.
- 9. A product by process, the product comprising a rotary cutting tool according to claim 1, further comprising stopper means to restrict the penetration of the cutting blades into the sheet.
