Claims
- 1. A method for processing a silver halide color photographic material comprising color developing an imagewise exposed silver halide color photographic material and then processing the material with a processing solution having a bleaching ability containing at least one bleaching agent; wherein said bleaching agent is a ferric complex of a compound represented by formula (II): ##STR27## wherein W.sup.2 represents an alkylene group having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, an arylene group having 6 to 10 carbon atoms, a cyclohexane group, ##STR28## in which W.sup.21 and W.sup.22 each represents an alkylene group, and m represents an integer of 1 to 3, and A represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, --L.sub.A --COOM, --L.sub.A --PO.sub.3 M.sub.2, --L.sub.A --OH, or --L.sub.A --SO.sub.3 M, where L.sub.A represents an alkylene group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms or an arylene group having 6 to 10 carbon atoms, and M represents a hydrogen atom or a cation, or a combination thereof; L.sup.5, L.sup.6, L.sup.7, and L.sup.8 each represents an alkylene group; and M.sub.7, M.sub.8, M.sub.9, M.sub.10 and M.sub.11 each represents a hydrogen atom or a cation;
- wherein said ferric complex of the compound represented by formula (II) is present in an amount of 0.05 to 2.5 mol per liter of the processing solution.
- 2. A method of claimed in claim 1, wherein L.sup.5, L.sup.6, L.sup.7 and L.sup.8 each represents an alkylene group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
- 3. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein L.sup.5, L.sup.6, L.sup.7 and L.sup.8 each represents a methylene group or an ethylene group.
- 4. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein W.sup.2 represents ##STR29##
- 5. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said ferric complex of a compound represented by formula (II) is present in an amount of 0.05 to 1.5 mol per liter of the processing solution.
- 6. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said ferric complex of a compound represented by formula (II) is present in an amount of 0.1 to 0.8 mol per liter of the processing solution.
- 7. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said processing solution has a pH of 2 to 9.
- 8. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said composition is a bleaching solution containing an ammonium bromide as a rehalogenating agent in an amount of 0.1 to 5 mol per liter of the bleaching solution.
