- replenishing said processing tank with a replenisher by an amount corresponding to the amount of said photosensitive material which has been processed at a predetermined timing;
- discharging the liquid from said processing tank by an amount which is determined by subtracting an amount of the processing solution carried out of said processing tank by said photosensitive material from the sum of the amount of said replenisher and the amount of the processing solution carried into said processing tank by said photosensitive material; and
- replenishing said processing tank with water until the liquid surface level is said processing tank reaches an original liquid surface level.
