Claims
- 1. A method of modulating the activity of a 279-expressing endothelial cell, comprising contacting the cell with a compound that modulates the activity or expression of a 279 polypeptide or nucleic acid, in an amount effective to modulate the activity of the cell.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the compound is selected from the group consisting of a peptide, a phosphopeptide, a small organic molecule, a small inorganic molecule and an antibody.
- 3. A method of treating or preventing an angiogenic disorder, in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a compound that modulates the activity or expression of a 279 polypeptide or nucleic acid, in an amount effective to treat or prevent said cardiovascular disorder.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the angiogenic disorder involves pathological angiogenesis or abnormal neovascularization.
- 5. The method of claim 3, wherein the angiogenic disorder is atherosclerosis.
- 6. The method of claim 3, wherein the angiogenic disorder is a cancer.
