Claims
- 1. An integrated wireless and wired communication system, said system having a wireline network with centralized control of telephone services provided to subscribers and allowing enhanced customized services to be provided by carriers and a wide-area wireless intelligent network that allows enhanced customized services to be provided by carriers to thereby provide personalized services to individual subscribers from any call point and to provide mobility management within said wireless intelligent network, said system comprising:a wireless intelligent network for allowing customized services by carriers, said wireless intelligent network comprising: at least one service control point adapted to hold at least one database, and at least one mobile switching center; a wireline intelligent network for allowing customized services by carriers, said wireline intelligent network operatively connected to said wireless intelligent network so as to form a node thereon, wherein said wireline network node connection allows said wireline network to respond to control messages from said wireless intelligent network and to issue control messages to said wireless intelligent network, said control messages complying with a standard or a defined interaction that is required of a particular functional entity on said wireless network; and register means containing profile information on a user of a trigger means, said register means adapted to register the actuation of said trigger means on both the wireline and wireless network means whereby said trigger means acts to inform said integrated network of the location, activity of the mobile or identity of the user thereof for the purpose of providing profile information data to the trigger means based on certain register means stored data.
- 2. The system as in claim 1 wherein said wireless network means includes a gateway means, said trigger means acting to activate said register means through said gateway means.
- 3. A system as in claim 2 wherein said trigger means is a hand held device with mark up language (HDML).
- 4. A system as in claim 2 and including multiple trigger means all acting through said gateway means to actuate said register means thereby limiting the number of accesses to said integrated network.
- 5. A system as in claim 4 and including at least two gateway means whereby said trigger means have more than one gateway means to actuate said register means therethrough.
- 6. A system as in claim 2 wherein said wireless network has a point code which routes messages from gateway server to individual applications based on mapping of subscriber information.
- 7. A system as in claim 1 wherein said trigger means is a wireline phone.
- 8. A system as in claim 1 wherein said trigger means contains an electronic identification number and a MIN number to inform said register means as to whether user is part of the local register data base or a roamer and where his home location register is.
- 9. A system as in claim 1 wherein said trigger means is a handheld device with mark up language (HDML).
- 10. A system as in claim 9 wherein said device is a cellular phone.
- 11. A system as in claim 1 wherein said combined system provides means for wireless subscribers to receive information from enterprise network data sources based on event triggers in said data sources.
- 12. A system as in claim 11 wherein said combined network provides an improved means of implementing reduced digit dialing based on mobility related trigger information.
- 13. The system of claim 11, wherein said enterprise network is associated with a mass media broadcasting station.
- 14. A system as in claim 1 wherein said combined system provides means for enterprise network based applications to have access to profile information and event triggers in the wireless network.
- 15. The system of claim 1, wherein an event broadcast via a mass media means is used to modify routing of a call placed from a phone based on said wireline or wireless network by using a link from a mass media broadcasting station to transmit an event trigger that causes the routing to be modified.
- 16. An integrated wireless and wired communication system, said system having a wireline network with centralized control of telephone services provided to subscribers and allowing enhanced customized services to be provided by carriers and a wide-area wireless intelligent network that allows enhanced customized services to be provided by carriers to thereby provide personalized services to individual subscribers from any call point and to provide mobility management within said wireless network, said system comprising:a wireless intelligent network means, said wireless network means having a protocol and allowing for enhanced and customized services by carriers, said wireless network means including service control points adapted to hold data bases, and at least one mobile switching center means and service transfer point means; and a wireline intelligent network means, said wireless network means having a protocol and allowing for enhanced and customized services by carriers, said wireline switched intelligent network operatively connected to said wireless intelligent network means so as to form a node thereon and enable said wireline network means to appear to the wireless network means as an extension of itself while providing local mobility and profile information, wherein events broadcast via mass media means are used to modify routing of calls placed from a wireline or wireless network based phone by using a link from the mass media broadcasting stations to transmit event triggers that cause the routing to be modified.
- 17. A method of employing a wireline intelligent network as a functional entity of a wide area wireless intelligent network to afford connection between said networks which have different protocols, the method comprising:providing a data processor having means resident thereon to translate the control protocol of the wireless intelligent network to an application programing interface protocol of said wireline intelligent network; connecting said processor to said wireline intelligent network and to a home location register in said wireless intelligent network, wherein said data processor allows call routing information to be exchanged between said private wireline network and said home location register such that the wireline network becomes a functional entity of said wireless intelligent network; and operating said connected networks through said data processor to provide a platform for custom application tailoring of an individual user's needs on said wireless intelligent network and to provide mobility management to said wireless intelligent network.
- 18. The method of claim 17, further comprising:modifying the routing of a call placed from a phone associated with said combined network, by using a link from a mass media broadcasting station to transmit an event trigger that causes said routing to be modified.
- 19. The method of claim 17 further including the steps of:providing a gateway means on said combined network whereby a user operates a trigger means on both the wireless and wireline networks to register said trigger means and to provide access for information from a database in the user home location register to said user at his present location.
- 20. The method of claim 19 wherein said trigger means is a hand held device with mark up language.
- 21. The method of claim 20 wherein said hand held device is a cellular phone.
- 22. The method of claim 19 and including the step of:sending information out to said user at his present triggered location whereby the information is timely and current and pertinent to said user in real-time based on profile data stored in his home location register.
- 23. The method of claim 22 and including the steps of:handing off said information access to another gateway based on the location of the user in relation to his home location register as the user moves from one location to another in the combined system.
- 24. An integrated network communications system, said system comprisinga switched cellular network based on wireless intelligent network architecture wherein said cellular network has a first protocol and comprises: at least one service control point with a home location register, a private wired network having a second protocol, wherein said private wired network comprises: at least one open architecture server hosting a PBX; and an interface between said wired and cellular networks which translates between said first protocol and said second protocol to effectively form said private network comprising said server as a node of said cellular network whereby said server co-acts with said service control point and home location register to support various applications.
- 25. The system of claim 24, wherein an event broadcast from a mass media broadcasting station is used to modify routing of a call placed from a phone associated with said integrated network, wherein said mass media broadcasting station transmits an event trigger that causes the routing to be modified.
- 26. A system as in claim 24 wherein said application includes a connection to a customer site whereupon said system can function in conjunction with an enterprise network which has different protocols and data bases.
- 27. A system as in claim 24 wherein said application includes means for implementing reduced digit dialing or closed user groups based on mobility related trigger information.
- 28. A system as in claim 24 wherein said integrated network appears to the cellular network or the wireline network as an extension of the network with a subSCP process that provides local mobility or profile information.
- 29. A system as in claim 24 wherein said combined network provides for an internet or intranet based information source to send/receive TCAP information to a mobile subscriber based on certain activities in the cellular network.
- 30. A system as in claim 24 further including:a gateway server means to provide access to said integrated network for several user connections whereby it treats the switched cellular network like database gateway to reduce the number of point codes required.
- 31. A system as in claim 30 wherein said gateway server means provides access for wireless subscribers to enterprise networks and other information sources based on event triggers in the data sources.
- 32. A system as in claim 31 wherein said gateway server means provides access for subscribers to the internet.
- 33. A system as in claim 24 wherein said open architecture server has means for developing and implementing wireless network services and combined network services.
- 34. A system as in claim 33 wherein said server allows for information service networks such as the internet.
- 35. A mobility extended telephone network programming interface, said interface comprising:a gateway server means adapted to be connected to a combined wireline and wireless network, said wireless network having at least one service control point with a home location register and said wireline network having an open architecture server with a protocol; an enterprise network operatively connected to said gateway server means and adapted to host a multiplicity of application means that contain different languages, data and information; and said server and enterprise network cooperating to access user profile information on said combined wireline and wireless network while limiting the number of SS7 connections to said combined network.
- 36. An interface as in claim 35 wherein said enterprise network includes trigger means adapted to trigger access to information in said home location register on said combined network.
- 37. An interface as in claim 36 wherein said trigger means comprises a cellular phone.
- 38. An interface as in claim 33 wherein said trigger means comprises a hand held device with mark up language.
- 39. An interface as in claim 35 wherein said trigger means provides access for wireless subscribers internet and other information sources based on event triggers in those data sources.
- 40. An interface as in claim 35 wherein said interface provides a means for implementing reduced digit dialing based on mobility related trigger information.
- 41. The interface of claim 35, wherein said interface provides a means for implementing reduced digit dialing based on an event trigger received from a mass media broadcasting station.
- 42. An integrated wireless and wired communication system, said system having a wireline network with centralized control of telephone services provided to subscribers and allowing enhanced customized services to be provided by carriers and a wide-area wireless intelligent network that allows enhanced customized services to be provided by carriers to thereby provide personalized services to individual subscribers from any call point and to provide mobility management within said integrated network, said system comprising:a wireless intelligent network for allowing customized services by carriers; and a wireline intelligent network for allowing customized services by carriers, said wireline switched intelligent network operatively connected to said wireless intelligent network so as to form a node thereon, wherein an event broadcast via a mass media means is used to modify the routing of a call placed from a wireline or wireless network based phone by using a link from a mass media broadcasting station to transmit an event trigger that causes the routing to be modified.
