Claims
- 1. A method of detecting a condition in which a movable track is on the verge of moving along a direction of travel outside a threshold region that extends between a desired first position and a threshold position, the method comprising the steps of:providing a sensor to detect the existence of the movable track when the movable track is positioned at a readjustment position disposed between the first position and the threshold position; positioning the sensor substantially at the readjustment position; and detecting the existence of the movable track at the readjustment position with the sensor.
- 2. The method as set forth in claim 1, in which the step of providing a sensor includes the step of providing a sensor apparatus, and in which the sensor is a secondary sensor, the sensor apparatus further including a primary sensor that is positioned to detect the existence of the movable track when the movable track is at the threshold position.
- 3. The method as set forth in claim 2, in which the step of providing a sensor apparatus includes the step of operatively offsetting the secondary sensor from the primary sensor along the direction of travel.
- 4. A method of detecting a condition in which a movable track is on the verge of moving along a direction of travel outside a threshold region that extends between a desired first position and a threshold position, the method comprising:providing a sensor to detect the existence of the movable track when the movable track is positioned at a readjustment position disposed between the first position and the threshold position; detecting the existence of the movable track at the readjustment position with the sensor; said providing a sensor including providing a sensor apparatus, the sensor being a secondary sensor, the sensor apparatus further including a primary sensor that is positioned to detect the existence of the movable track when the movable track is at the threshold position; and in which the step of providing a sensor apparatus includes the step of providing a sensor mount on which the primary and secondary sensors are disposed, the sensor mount being movable along the direction of travel, the primary and secondary sensors being operatively offset from one another a distance along the direction of travel substantially equal to the distance between the readjustment position and the threshold position.
- 5. The method as set forth in claim 4 further comprising:locating the movable track in the first position; positioning the sensor mount such that the primary sensor is substantially on the verge of detecting the existence of the movable track; and moving the sensor mount along the direction of travel a distance substantially equal to the distance between the first position and the threshold position.
- 6. The method as set forth in claim 5, in which moving the sensor mount includes rotating a component of the sensor apparatus a given number of turns to translate the sensor mount the distance substantially equal to the distance between the first position and the threshold position.
