Claims
- 1. A compound represented by the general formula: ##EQU26## wherein R.sub.1 ' is selected from the group consisting of alkylene, haloalkylene, alkoxyalkylene, aminoalkylene, cycloalkylene, aralkylene, cycloalkylakylene and aryloxyalkylene groups, R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of substituted or unsubstituted aryl groups wherein the substituents are selected from the group consisting of alkyl, methoxy, chloro, bromo and nitro, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen and lower alkyl, and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl, phenyl, phenoxy, and lower alkoxy.
- 2. A compound as set forth in claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 ' is alkylene or aralkylene, R.sub.2 is phenyl, methoxyphenyl or m-nitrophenyl, R.sub.3 is hydrogen, R.sub.4 is hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.5 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each hydrogen or lower alkyl.
- 3. The compound as set forth in claim 2 wherein R.sub.1 ' is ethylene, R.sub.2 is phenyl, R.sub.3 is hydrogen, R.sub.4 is hydrogen, R.sub.5 is methyl, and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are hydrogen.
- 4. The compound as set forth in claim 2 wherein R.sub.1 ' is propylene, R.sub.2 is phenyl, R.sub.3 is hydrogen, R.sub.4 is hydrogen, R.sub.5 is methyl, and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are hydrogen.
- 5. The compound as set forth in claim 2 wherein R.sub.1 ' is phenylethylene, R.sub.2 is phenyl, R.sub.3 is hydrogen, R.sub.4 is hydrogen, R.sub.5 is methyl, and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are hydrogen.
- 6. A compound as set forth in claim 2 wherein R.sub.1 ' is ethylene, R.sub.2 is phenyl, and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each hydrogen.
- 7. A compound as set forth in claim 2 wherein R.sub.1 ' is propylene, R.sub.2 is phenyl, and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each hydrogen.
- 8. A compound as set forth in claim 2 wherein R.sub.1 ' is ethylene, R.sub.2 is m-nitrophenyl, R.sub.3 is hydrogen, R.sub.4 is hydrogen, R.sub.5 is methyl, and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each hydrogen.
- 9. .alpha.-Phenylhydroxyethyl methacrylate.
- 10. .beta.-Phenylhydroxyethyl methacrylate.
- 11. A compound represented by the general formula: ##EQU27## wherein R.sub.1' is selected from the group consisting of alkylene, haloalkylene, alkoxyalkylene, aminoalkylene, cycloalkylene, aralkylene, cycloalkylalkylene and aryloxyalkylene groups, R.sub.2 is unsubstituted aryl, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen and lower alkyl, and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl, phenyl, phenoxy, and lower alkoxy.
