Claims
- 1. A copier system having plural independantly operable optical reader stations and a fewer number of developer mechanisms for producing hard copy reproductions of visual images read by said optical reader stations, malfunction indication and control means, said malfunction indication and control means including monitoring means for those operating components of the system that affect only individual reader stations for detecting malfunction of those components, and control and indicator means for each station for deenergizing only the affected stations in response to unacceptable malfunction thereof and indicating the source of malfunction of the affected stations, and additional monitoring means for those operating components of the system that affect all stations, and additional control and indicator means for deenergizing the entire copier system in response to unacceptable malfunction thereof and indicating the source of malfunction.
- 2. In the system of claim 1, said indicator means comprising a visual indicator.
- 3. In the system of claim 1, said indicator means comprising an audible indicator.
- 4. In the system of claim 1, said indicator means comprising both a visual and an audible indicator.
- 5. In the system of claim 1, said indicator means for each station responsive to a user requesting a copy function by a reader station to actuate said indicator.
- 6. An electrostatic copier system having plural optical reader stations at least one of which is detachably connectable to the system and a developer mechanism incapable of printing from all stations simultaneously for multiplexing application to the different reader stations according to the priority of usage of the stations, a plurality of "hard copy" delivery outlets each associated with a different one of the optical reader stations, means for identifying the video images produced by each station, and sorting means responsive to said identifying means for delivering each "hard copy" reproduction to the correct delivery outlet, the addition of malfunction indication and control means, said malfunction means comprising means for monitoring those components of the machine that affect all stations and deenergizing the entire machine in response to unacceptable malfunction thereof, and additional means for monitoring those components of the machine that are associated with only particular reader stations and deenergizing only the affected station in response to unacceptable malfunction thereof, and indicator means associated with said malfunction means and additional means for indicating the source of malfunction.
- 7. In the system of claim 6, said indicator means comprising an audible indicator.
- 8. In the system of claim 6, said indicator means comprising a visual indicator.
- 9. In the system of claim 6, said indicator means comprising both a visual and an audible indicator.
- 10. In the system of claim 6, said indicator means for each station responsive to a user requesting a copy function by a reader station to actuate said indicator.
