Claims
- 1. A method for identifying a cell expressing an mcl-1 polypeptide, the method comprising contacting a nucleic acid component of the cell with a poly nucleotide reagent that binds to the nucleic acid component, wherein the nucleic acid component comprises a polynucleotide encoding SEQ ID NO:2 or a fragment comprising at least 15 nucleotides of said polynucleotide, and detecting specific binding of the reagent, thereby identifying a cell expressing an mcl-1 polypeptide.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the nucleic acid component is DNA.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the nucleic acid component is RNA.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the reagent is an oligonucleotide, which can hybridize to the nucleic acid component under stringent hybridization conditions.
- 5. The method of claim 4, wherein the oligonucleotide is detectably labeled.
- 6. The method of claim 4, wherein the oligonucleotide is a polymerase chain reaction primer.
- 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the polynucleotide comprises SEQ ID NO:1.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the fragment of said polynucleotide comprises a restriction fragment length polymorphism.
