Claims
- 1. A method of preparing a device comprising:providing a metal-containing substance; converting the metal-containing substance into a non-stoichiometric non-equilibrium crystalline nanomaterial; and incorporating the nanomaterial into a device by a process selected from the group consisting of: molding, stamping, sputtering and pressing.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the nanomaterial comprises ferrite.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the nanomaterial has a domain size less than 500 nm.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the nanomaterial has a domain size less than 100 nm.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein the nanomaterial has a composition that comprises at least one element selected from the group consisting of: barium, calcium, strontium, iron, cobalt, nickel, rare earth, yttrium, titanium, zirconium, tungsten, tantalum, niobium, molybdenum, zinc, copper, tin, indium, silicon, antimony and aluminum.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein the device comprises a magnetic device.
