Claims
- 1. An isolated polynucleotide comprising the nucleotide sequence: (a) set forth in SEQ. ID. NO. 1, 3, 5 or 7, or (b) the complement of said nucleotide sequence, or (c) both (a) and (b).
- 2. An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence (a) encoding a polypeptide having the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ. ID NO. 2, 4, 6, or 8, (b) the complement of said nucleotide sequence, or (c) both (a) and (b).
- 3. An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence (a) encoding a signal peptide having the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ. ID. NO. 2 from amino acid residue number −25 to −1 or (b) the complement of said nucleotide sequence, or (c) both (a) and (b).
- 4. An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence (a) encoding a signal peptide having the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ. ID NO. 4, 6, or 8 from amino acid residue number −24 to −1 or (b) the complement of said nucleotide sequence, or (c) both (a) and (b).
- 5. An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence (a) encoding a l-GnRH polypeptide having the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ. ID NO. 2, 4, 6, or 8 from amino acid residue number 1 to 10, or (b) the complement of said nucleotide sequence, or (c) both (a) and (b).
- 6. An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence: (a) encoding a GnRH associated peptide having the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ. ID NO. 2 or 8 from amino acid residue 11 to 69, or (b) the complement of said nucleotide sequence, or (c) both (a) and (b).
- 7. An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence: (a) encoding a GnRH associated peptide having the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ. ID. NO. 4 or 6 from amino acid residue 11 to 68, or (b) the complement of said nucleotide sequence, or (c) both (a) and (b).

- 87. A method of producing a polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide of claim 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84 and 85 comprising:
(a) growing a host cell comprising said polynucleotide in a culture; and (b) collecting the polypeptide from the culture; or (c) manually or automatedly synthesizing said polypeptide.
- 88. A method of sterilizing fish comprising:
administering to the fish an effective amount of the entire polypeptide, any portion or portions of the polypeptide, an analog of the entire polypeptide, or an analog to any portion or portions of the polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ. ID. NO. 1, 3, 5, or 7.
- 89. The method of claim 88 wherein administration of said effective amount is by injection, implantation, orally or by dissolution in the water in which the fish are living.
- 90. A method of sterilizing fish comprising:
administering to the fish an effective amount of the entire polynucleotide or any portion or portions thereof set forth in SEQ. ID. NO. 1, 3, 5, or 7.
- 91. The method of claim 90 wherein said administration of said effective amount is by injection, implantation, orally or by dissolution in the water in which the fish are living.
- 92. A method of sterilizing fish comprising:
administering to the fish an effective amount of the entire polypeptide, any portion or portions of the polypeptide, an analog to the entire polypeptide, or an analog to any portion or portions of the polypeptide set forth in SEQ. ID. NO. 2, 4, 6, or 8.
- 93. The method of claim 92 wherein said administration of said effective amount is by injection, implantation, orally or by dissolution in the water in which the fish are living.
- 94. An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding the degenerate primer set forth in SEQ. ID. NO. 21.
