Claims
- 1. [Lys(Tfa).sup.14,17,19,20 ]desacetylthymosin.alpha..sub.1.
- 2. Sulfmoc [Lys(Tfa).sup.14,17,19,20 ]desacetylthymosin.alpha..sub.1.
- 3. A process for preparing thymosin.alpha..sub.1 which process comprises in combination
- (a) reacting [Lys(Tfa).sup.14,17,19,20 ]desacetylthymosin.alpha..sub.1 with an acetylating agent so as to produce [Lys(Tfa).sup.14,17,19,20 ]thymosin.alpha..sub.1 ; and
- (b) removing the trifluoroacetyl groups by treatment of [Lys(Tfa).sup.14,17,19,20 ]thymosin.alpha..sub.1 with an aqueous cyclic amine.
- 4. The process of claim 3 wherein said acetylating agent comprises acetic anhydride and said aqueous cyclic amine is piperidine.
- 5. A process for preparing thymosin.alpha..sub.1 which process comprises in combination
- (a) reacting a solid phase resin linked N-terminus free, side chain protected desacetylthymosin.alpha..sub.1 having lysine protected with Tfa with an acetylating agent so as to produce a solid phase resin linked, side chain protected thymosin.alpha..sub.1 ; and
- (b) cleaving said thymosin.alpha..sub.1 from said solid phase resin by treatment with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride so as to produce [Lys(Tfa).sup.14,17,19,20 ]thymosin.alpha..sub.1 ; and
- (c) removing the trifluoroacetyl groups by treatment of [Lys(Tfa).sup.14,17,19,20 ]thymosin.alpha..sub.1 with an aqueous cyclic amine.
- 6. The process of claim 5 wherein said solid phase resin is copolystyrene-196 divinyl benzene linked by a 4-(oxymethyl)phenylacetamidomethyl group, said side chain groups are protected with benzyl or trifluoroacetyl groups, said acetylating agent comprises acetic anhydride and said aqueous cyclic amine is piperidine.
