Claims
- 1. An activation analysis detector system for determining the presence and amount of an element of interest by detecting using the technique of nuclear resonance fluorescence gamma rays emitted or scattered from said element of interest upon activation, wherein said detector system comprises nuclei having the same nuclear energy levels as energies of the gamma rays to be detected.
- 2. The detector system of claim 1 wherein said detector system comprises a gamma-ray detector, said gamma-ray detector comprising said nuclei having the same nuclear energy levels as energies of the gamma rays to be detected.
- 3. The detector system of claim 1 wherein said detector system comprises a gamma-ray detector and a nuclear resonance fluorescence scatterer, said nuclear resonance fluorescence scatterer comprising said nuclei having the same nuclear energy levels as energies of the gamma rays to be detected.
- 4. The detector system of claim 3 wherein said nuclear resonance fluorescence scatterer operates in an active mode.
