Claims
- 1. An optical information recording medium comprising:
- an optical information recording layer; and
- a carrier for carrying said recording layer,
- said recording layer comprising at least one organic dye represented by a formula: ##STR34## where R is ##STR35##
- 1. 2-napththylene group, 2,3-naphthylene group, or 3,4-naphthylene group; Z is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, allyl group, nitro group, hydroxyl group, carboxyl group, an alkoxyl group, --OCF.sub.3,--OSF.sub.3, --R.sup.2 OH, --R.sup.2 CHO, --R.sup.2 COOH, --R.sup.2 OR.sup.3, --R.sup.2 COR.sup.3, --R.sup.2 COOR.sup.3, --COR.sup.3, --COOR.sup.3, ##STR36## --CH.dbd.CH--CN, --NH.sub.2 N(R.sup.3).sub.2, --NHCOCH.sub.3, or ##STR37## m is an integer of 1 to 4; R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an aralkyl group, or phenyl group;
- R.sup.2 is an alkylene group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms;
- L is ##STR38## n is 0, 1 or 2; p is an integer of 1 to 4; ##STR39## W is a monovalent group; R.sup.4 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, phenyl group, an aralkyl group, allyl group, ##STR40## (where Ph is phenyl), or ##STR41## R.sup.5 is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; X is an anion; and
- Y is unsaturated organic group having 2 to 20 carbon atoms and is selected from the group consisting of an allyl group, a vinyl group, an allylidene group, an allyloxy group, a crotonoyl group, a styryl group, a vinylidene group, a vinylene group, a diene group, a methylidene group, an acryloyl group, a methacryloyl group, an isopropenyl group, an ethynyl group, and a butenyl group and which imparts improved solubility, film formability and wettability to the dye.
- 2. The medium according to claim 1, wherein said organic dye has a formula: ##STR42## where R, R.sup.1, X, Y, A and n are as defined in claim 1.
- 3. The medium according to claim 1, wherein said organic dye has a formula: ##STR43## where M is ##STR44## and R, R.sup.1, X, Y, W and p are as defined in claim 1.
- 4. The medium according to claim 1, wherein said Y is a substituted or unsubstituted allyl, vinyl, allylidene, allyloxy, crotonoyl, styryl, vinylidene, vinylene, diene, methylidine, acryloyl, methacryloyl, isopropenyl, ethynyl or butenyl group.
- 5. The medium according to claim 1, wherein said Y is --CH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.3 H.sub.6 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 OCH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 COOCH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH--CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 OCOC(CH.sub.3).dbd.CH.sub.2, ##STR45## , --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 COOCH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 OCOCH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3)CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.4 H.sub.8 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 OCOCH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.8 H.sub.16 COCH.dbd.CH.sub.2, CH.sub.3 CHCH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OCH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.3 H.sub.6 COOCH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 COCH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OOC(CH.sub.3).dbd.CH.sub.2,--CH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CHCH.sub.3, --CH.sub.2 C(CH.sub.3).dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 OOCC(CH.sub.3).dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OOCCH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.4 H.sub.8 COOCH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.8 H.sub.16 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, --C.sub.3 H.sub.6 OCO--C(CH.sub.3).dbd.CH.sub.2, --CH.sub.2 COOCH.dbd.CH.sub.2, or --CH.dbd.CHCH.sub.3.
- 6. The medium according to claim 1, wherein said Y is allyl group.
- 7. The medium according to claim 6, wherein said L is --(CH.dbd.CH).sub.n A.dbd.(CH--CH).sub.n or --(CH.dbd.CH).sub.p CH.dbd., and A is ##STR46##
- 8. The medium of claim 1 wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl.
- 9. The medium of claim 1 wherein R.sup.1 is aralkyl or phenyl.
- 10. The medium according to claim 2, wherein said Y is substituted or unsubstituted allyl, vinyl, allylidene, allyloxy, crotonyl, styryl, vinylidene, vinylene, diene, methylidine, acryloyl, methacryloyl, isopropenyl, ethynyl or butenyl group.
- 11. - 12. The medium according to claim 2, wherein said L is --(CH.dbd.CH).sub.n A.dbd.(CH--CH).sub.n or --(CH.dbd.CH).sub.p CH.dbd., and A is ##STR48##
- 13. The medium of claim 1 wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl.
- 14. The medium of claim 1 wherein R.sup.1 is aralkyl.
- 15. The medium according to claim 3, wherein said Y is substituted or unsubstituted allyl, vinyl, allylidene, allyloxy, crotonyl, styryl, vinylidene, vinylene, diene, methylidine, acryloyl, methacryloyl, isopropenyl, ethynyl or butenyl group.
- 16. - 17. The medium according to claim 3, wherein said Y is allyl group.
- 18. The medium according to claim 17, wherein said L is --(CH.dbd.CH).sub.n A.dbd.(CH--CH).sub.n or --(CH.dbd.CH).sub.p CH.dbd., and A is ##STR50##
- 19. The medium of claim 3 wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl.
- 20. The medium of claim 3 wherein R.sup.1 is aralkyl or phenyl.
- 21. The medium according to claim 2 wherein said Y is an allyl group.
