Claims
- 1. A DNA coding for a peptide of a papilloma virus major capsid protein, wherein the peptide comprises the amino acid sequence of FIG. 1, FIG. 2, FIG. 3, FIG. 4, FIG. 5, FIG. 6, FIG. 7, FIG. 8, FIG. 9 or FIG. 10 or an amino acid sequence differing therefrom by one or more amino acids.
- 2. The DNA according to claim 1, characterized in that the DNA coding for the peptide of the papilloma virus major capsid protein comprises the base sequence of FIG. 1, FIG. 2, FIG. 3, FIG. 4, FIG. 5, FIG. 6, FIG. 7, FIG. 8, FIG. 9 or FIG. 10 or a base sequence differing therefrom by one or more base pairs.
- 3. A papilloma virus genome including the DNA according to claim 1 or 2.
- 4. A process for providing the papilloma virus genome according to claim 3, comprising the following processing steps:
(a) isolation of the total DNA from a biopsy of epithelial neoplasm, (b) hybridization of the total DNA of (a) with a DNA according to claim 1 or 2 so as to detect a papilloma virus genome included in the total DNA of (a), and (c) cloning of the total DNA of (a), containing the papilloma virus genome, in a vector and optionally subcloning the resulting clone, all processing steps originating from conventional DNA recombination technique.
- 5. A protein, coded by the papilloma virus genome according to claim 3.
- 6. The protein according to claim 5, characterized in that it is a papilloma virus major capsid protein.
- 7. The protein according to claim 5, characterized in that it is a papilloma virus minor capsid protein.
- 8. An expression vector, comprising a DNA coding for the protein according to claims 5-7.
- 9. A transformant containing the expression vector according to claim 8.
- 10. A process for the preparation of the protein according to any one of claims 5-7, comprising the cultivation of the transformant according to claim 9 under suitable conditions.
- 11. A virus-like particle, comprising the papilloma virus major capsid protein according to claim 6.
- 12. The virus-like particle according to claim 11, comprising additionally the minor capsid protein according to claim 7.
- 13. An antibody directed against the protein according to any one of claims 5-7.
- 14. The antibody directed against the virus-like particle according to claim 11 or 12.
- 15. Use of the DNA according to claim 1 or 2 as a reagent for diagnosis.
- 16. Use of the protein according to any one of claims 5-7 as a reagent for diagnosis, treatment and/or vaccination.
- 17. Use of the virus-like particle according to claim 11 or 12 as a reagent for diagnosis, treatment and/or vaccination.
- 18. Use of the antibody according to claim 13 or 14 as a reagent for diagnosis and/or treatment.
