Claims
- 1. An inspection lamp kit for detecting refrigerant leaks from air-conditioning systems through illumination of fluorescent material added to the refrigerant, the inspection lamp kit comprising:an LED pen light having an extendible handle and a lamp mount on one end of the handle; a plurality of lamp housings, each lamp housing being individually removably mountable to the lamp mount on the handle, each lamp housing including at least one LED; and wherein at least one LED in at least one lamp housing emits light within a wavelength band below about 500 nm.
- 2. An inspection lamp kit as in claim 1, wherein the extendible handle includes an upper flexible portion on which the lamp mount is located, and a lower portion, and wherein the flexible portion may be bent to fit into hard-to-reach areas of air-conditioning systems.
- 3. An inspection lamp kit as in claim 2, wherein the lamp mount includes threads and wherein each lamp housing includes threads which are adapted to mate with the threads formed on the lamp mount.
- 4. An inspection lamp kit as in claim 3, wherein each lamp assembly in the kit emits light within a different wavelength from the other lamp assemblies in the kit.
- 5. An inspection lamp kit as in claim 1, wherein the handle further includes a grip section and telescoping sections adapted to be pulled out to extend the handle and pushed in to retract the handle.
- 6. An inspection lamp kit as in claim 2, further comprising an activation switch located on the lower portion and electrically connected to the lamp mount.
- 7. An inspection lamp kit for detecting refrigerant leaks from air-conditioning systems through illumination of fluorescent material added to the refrigerant, the inspection lamp kit comprising:an LED pen light having an extendible handle, the extendible handle including an upper flexible portion and a lower portion, the flexible portion being bendable relative to the lower portion, and a lamp mount located on one end of the flexible portion of the handle; a plurality of lamp housings, each lamp housing being individually removably mountable to the lamp mount on the handle, each lamp housing including at least one LED, and wherein at least one LED in at least one lamp housing emits light within a wavelength band below about 500 nm.
- 8. An inspection lamp kit as in claim 7, wherein the removable mounting of the lamp housings includes mating threads formed on the lamp mount and each lamp housing.
- 9. An inspection lamp kit as in claim 8, wherein each lamp housing in the kit emits light within a different wavelength from the other lamp housings in the kit.
- 10. An inspection lamp kit as in claim 7, further comprising an activation switch located on the lower portion and electrically connected to the lamp mount.
