Claims
- 1. A photographic processing composition comprising an aqueous alkaline processing solution including a silver halide developing agent and a silver halide solvent which forms a silver complex soluble and diffusible in said aqueous alkaline solution, said silverr halide solvent being a compound of the formula M--[(X).sub.n --T].sub.m wherein M represents an aliphatic or aromatic moiety, Y--A, wherein A is an atom selected from O, N and C ionizable in said alkaline solution to the corresponding O.sup..crclbar., N.sup..crclbar. and C.sup..crclbar. anion and Y represents the residue of said moiety; T is an --S-- containing moiety excluding --SH and moieties that form --S.sup..crclbar. in alkaline solution selected from R--S-- or ##STR16## wherein R is a monovalent hydrocarbon radical and R' represents the carbon atoms necessary to complete an aromatic or aliphatic ring; X represents a methylene group; n is a whole number from 0 to 5; and m is 1 or 2, said --S-- of said R--S-- and said ##STR17## being positioned alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon or zeta to said anion, said M being selected from a 2-amino-4-hydroxy-1,3,5triazine, a 1,2,3,4-tetrazole, a 1,2-disulfonylalkane, a sulfonamido derivative of an amino acid, a 2,4-dihydroxypyrimidine and a 4,6-dihydroxypyrimidine moiety.
- 2. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said M represents a 2-amino-4-hydroxy-1,3,5-triazine.
- 3. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said M represents a 1,2,3,4-tetrazole.
- 4. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said M represents a 1,2-disulfonylalkane.
- 5. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said M represents a sulfonamido derivative of an aminoacid.
- 6. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said M represents a 2,4-dihydroxypyrimidine.
- 7. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said M represents a 4,6-dihydroxypyrimidine.
- 8. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said T is R--S--.
- 9. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 8 wherein R is alkyl.
- 10. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said T is ##STR18##
- 11. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 10 wherein R' represents the carbon atoms to complete 2-thienyl.
- 12. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 which additionally includes a viscosity-increasing reagent.
- 13. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said silver halide solvent is ##STR19##
- 14. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said silver halide solvent is ##STR20##
- 15. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said silver halide solvent is ##STR21##
- 16. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said silver halide solvent is ##STR22##
- 17. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said silver halide solvent is ##STR23##
- 18. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said silver halide solvent is ##STR24##
- 19. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said silver halide solvent is ##STR25##
- 20. A photographic processing composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said silver halide solvent is ##STR26##
