Claims
- 1. A detergent which comprises:(i) 1-50% by weight of at least one nonionic surfactant, (ii) 0-4.0% by weight of an anionic surfactant and (iii) 0.05-2.5% by weight of at least one polycationic condensate obtained by condensing: (a) compounds selected from the group consisting of imidazole, C1-C25-C-alkylimidazoles and mixtures thereof, with (b) compounds selected from the group consisting of alkylene dihalides, epihalohydrins, bisepoxides, and mixtures thereof in a molar ratio of from 1:0.8 to 1:1.1 and, optionally quaternizing said condensates with a C4-C25-alkylating agent; or by heating triethanolamine or triisopropanolamine in the presence of an acidic catalyst and quaternizing said triethanolamine or triisopropanolamine condensate with one or more C4-C25-alkylating agents.
- 2. The detergent of claim 1, wherein the condensates have a molecular weight of from 500 to 100,000.
- 3. The detergent of claim 1, wherein the condensates have a molecular weight of from 1,000 to 500,000.
- 4. The detergent of claim 1, wherein the degree of quaternization of the amino groups in the condensates is at least 25%.
- 5. The detergent of claim 1, wherein the degree of quaternization of the amino groups in the condensates is at least 50%.
- 6. The detergent of claim 1, wherein the degree of quaternization of the amino groups in the condensates is from 70 to 100%.
- 7. The detergent of claim 1, which further includes at least one organic and/or inorganic builder.
- 8. The detergent of claim 1, which contains an anionic detergent in an amount up to 2.5% by weight.
- 9. The detergent of claim 1, which also contains at least one additive selected from bleaches, soil release polymers, anti-redeposition agents, enzymes, inorganic fillers, complexing agents, optical brighteners, dyes, perfumes, foam suppressants, corrosion inhibitors, bleach activators, bleach catalysts, phosphates or phosphonates.
