A catheter having a balloon formed of a polymeric material blend, the blend comprising:a) about 10-95% by weight of the total blend of a polyether block amide first polymeric material; and b) about 5-90% by weight of the total blend of a second polymeric material having a Shore durometer hardness less than about 55 D, which is different from the first polymeric material such that the second polymeric material softens the blend.
- 2. The catheter of claim 1 wherein the second polymeric material is a polyether block amide.
- 3. The catheter of claim 1 wherein the second polymeric material is selected from the group consisting of polyolefins, ethylene copolymers, polyesters, and polyester block copolymers.
