Claims
- 1. A compound according to the formula: ##STR9## wherein R is H or a blocking group; A is H or OH; B is a nucleoside or deoxynucleoside base which may be the same or different at each occurrence in the compound; and n is an integer from zero to thirty.
- 2. A compound according to the formula: ##STR10## wherein R is H or a blocking group; B is a deoxynucleoside base which may be the same or different at each occurrence in the compound; and n is an integer from zero to thirty.
- 3. A compound according to the formula: ##STR11## wherein R is H or a blocking group; A is H, or OH; B is a nucleoside or deoxynucleoside base which may be the same or different at each occurrence in the compound; and n and m are integers from one to thirty.
- 4. A compound according to the formula: ##STR12## wherein R is H or a blocking group; B is a deoxynucleoside base which may be the same or different at each occurrence in the compound; and n and m are integers from one to thirty.
- 5. A compound according to the formula: ##STR13## wherein R is H or a blocking group; A is H, OH, or OR4 wherein R4 is a blocking group; B is a nucleoside or deoxynucleoside base which may be the same or different at each occurrence in the compound; and n and m are integers from one to thirty.
- 6. A compound according to claim 1 wherein A is H or OH.
- 7. A compound according to claim 1 wherein R is H.
- 8. A compound according to claim 1 wherein R is a blocking group.
- 9. A compound according to claim 2 wherein R is H.
- 10. A compound according to claim 2 wherein R is a blocking group.
- 11. A compound according to claim 5 wherein R is H.
- 12. A compound according to claim 5 wherein R is a blocking group.
- 13. A compound according to claim 5 wherein A is H or OH.
- 14. A compound according to claim 4 wherein R is H.
- 15. A compound according to claim 4 wherein R is a blocking group.
- 16. A phosphorodithioate containing oligonucleotide according to claim 1 with sequence 5'-CTGTTCGGGCGCCA-3' corresponding to the sequence of the 3'-terminus of a transfer RNA that binds at the primer site of a retroviral genome.
- 17. A phosphorodithioate containing oligonucleotide according to claim 3 with sequence 5'-CTGTTCGGGCGCCA-3' which corresponds to the sequence of the 3'-terminus of a transfer RNA that binds at the primer site of a retroviral genome.

No. 07/545,238, filed Jun. 27, 1990 and now abandoned; which in turn is a continuation-in-part of our earlier filed U.S. patent application Ser. No. 07/332,247, filed Mar. 31, 1989 and now abandoned; which in turn is a continuation-in-part of our earlier filed U.S. patent application Ser. No. 07/198,886 filed May 26, 1988 and now abandoned.
