Claims
- 1. An angular position transducer for a rotating member comprising a disc connected to said member, an index means carried by said disc on its periphery, and a detector responsive to the passage of said index means for detecting the angular position of said disc, and wherein the disc is fixed to said member by means of a thin, flexible lamina and is guided in a peripheral zone thereof by a guide adjacent to said detector, in such a way as to allow the recovery of misalignments and axial displacements of said rotating member by the compliance of said lamina, in order to maintain substantially constant the distance between the detector means and the periphery of the disc.
- 2. A transducer according to claim 1, wherein said lamina is made from a material with a high coefficient of elasticity.
- 3. A transducer according to claim 2, wherein said guide is made from a material having a low friction coefficient with respect to said disc.
- 4. A transducer according to claim 1, further comprising a spacer defining a cylindrical cavity therein, in which said disc rotates and wherein the guide includes two circular rims resting on said spacer and having adjacent to said cavity for guiding two opposite surfaces of the peripheral zone of said disc.
- 5. A transducer according to claim 1, wherein the detector comprises a pair of optoelectronic elements having an illuminator and a light detector, wherein the disc is made of a metallic lamina, wherein said index means comprise a set of alternately opaque and transparent windows in front of which are the optoelectronic elements of said pair, and wherein the transparent windows are constituted by notches engraved on said metallic lamina adjacent to said peripheral guiding zone.
- 6. A transducer according to claim 5 further comprising a shield provided with at least one sight window for said notches, interposed between the optoelectronic elements of said pair and resting on a circular guide rim for said disc, for detecting the passage of said notches in front of a reference position of said shield.
- 7. A transducer according to claim 1, further comprising, for use with a rotating member rotating on a supporting structure, a shell suitable for the fixing thereof to said supporting structure, wherein said detector and said guide are mounted on said shell, wherein said disc is fixable to said rotating member by means of a fixing hub, and wherein said shell comprises an aperture allowing rotation with clearance and axial displacements of said hub with respect to the supporting structure of said rotating member.
- 8. A transducer according to claim 1, wherein said detector comprises a pair of optoelectronic elements having an illuminator and a detector, and in which the elements of the optoelectronic pairs are mounted on a printed circuit board of said transducer and in which the two boards are fixed on opposite sides of the disc, in such a way as to determine a space therebetween for mutual connection by means of one or more resistors regulating the response characteristics of said elements.
