Claims
- 1. A fuel injector nozzle comprising:
- an outer flexible tubular nozzle member having a bore;
- an inner flexible tubular nozzle member contained within said bore of said first outer flexible tubular member; and
- a means for biasing said inner flexible tubular nozzle member against said outer flexible tubular nozzle member.
- 2. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 1 wherein said inner flexible tubular member includes an inner surface and said biasing means comprises a cap screw which swages said inner surface to radially deflect said inner flexible tubular member towards said outer flexible tubular member.
- 3. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 2 wherein said inner flexible tubular member has a tapered interior bore therethrough and wherein said cap screw is adapted to swage said inner flexible tubular member along said tapered interior bore.
- 4. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 3 wherein said biasing means further includes a bushing attached to said cap screw and adapted to wedge against said tapered bore.
- 5. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 3 wherein said screw comprises an outer screw perimeter with a head lip machined thereon and said outer flexible tubular member comprises an outer tubular perimeter with a seat lip machined therein, said outer screw perimeter engaging said tapered bore to swage said seat lip radially outward to contact said outer flexible tubular member.
- 6. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 2 wherein said biasing means further comprises a set screw jambed against said cap screw within said inner flexible tubular member.
- 7. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 1 wherein said biasing means urges said inner flexible tubular member against said outer flexible tubular member to form a fluid seal between said inner and said outer flexible tubular members.
- 8. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 7 wherein said biasing means elastically deflects said outer flexible tubular member radially outward to establish a pre-load tensile stress in the outer extremity of said outer flexible tubular member.
- 9. A fuel injector nozzle comprising:
- an outer flexible tubular nozzle member;
- an inner flexible tubular nozzle member having an inner surface; and
- a screw which swages said inner surface to radially deflect said inner flexible tubular member towards said outer flexible tubular member.
- 10. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 9 wherein said inner flexible tubular member has a tapered interior bore therethrough and said screw is adapted to swage said inner flexible tubular member along said tapered interior bore.
- 11. A fuel injector nozzle comprising:
- a flexible tubular member comprising opposing lapped surfaces of flexible tubing; and
- a means for biasing said flexible tubular member along said lapped surfaces.
- 12. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 11 wherein said flexible tubing member comprises an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter and said biasing means comprises a tapered plug contacting said inner perimeter of said flexible tubing member and a collet contacting said outside perimeter of said flexible tubing member.
- 13. The fuel injector nozzle of claim 12 wherein said collet urges said flexible tubing member against said tapered plug to form a fluid seal along said lapped surfaces.
