- 3. The mailer of claim 2 wherein said mailer has a height in the second folded condition sufficient to cause rejection by a facer canceller of postal processing equipment as a non-letter size object.
- 4. The mailer of claim 1 wherein said extension flap is positioned between two of said panels in the first folded condition.
- 5. The mailer of claim 1 wherein said first pocket and said plurality of panels are dimensioned to receive an object selected from the group consisting of a mini-compact disk and a standard compact disk.
- 6. The mailer of claim 1 wherein said panels include an outbound address and a return address, said outbound address visible from an exterior of said panels when folded in said first folded condition and said return address visible from the exterior of said panels in said second folded condition.
- 7. The mailer of claim 1 wherein said first pocket is positioned relative to said panels in said first folded condition for preventing damage to the article when said mailer is handled by postal processing equipment.
- 8. The mailer of claim 7 wherein said first pocket is positioned relative to said panels such less than half of the article is contacted by postal processing equipment when said mailer is processed by postal processing equipment.
- 9. The mailer of claim 7 wherein said first pocket is positioned relative to said panels such that the article is not contacted by postal processing equipment when said mailer is processed by postal processing equipment.
- 10. The mailer of claim 1 further comprising an article positioned within said first pocket.
- 11. The mailer of claim 10 wherein said first pocket is positioned relative to said panels such that less than half of said article is contacted when said mailer is processed by postal processing equipment.
- 12. The mailer of claim 10 wherein said first pocket is positioned relative to said panels such that said article is not contacted by postal processing equipment when said mailer is processed thereby.
- 13. The mailer of claim 1 wherein said extension flap has a first dimension measured parallel to said second fold line and said panels have a second dimension measured parallel to second fold line that is larger than said first dimension.
- 14. The mailer of claim 1 further comprising a second pocket dimensioned to receive another article, said second pocket being accessible when said panels are in said unfolded condition and being inaccessible when said panels are in either the first folded condition or second folded condition.
- 15. A mailer for an article, comprising:
a first panel having a first surface; and a second panel having a second surface in contact with said first surface, said second surface being adhesively bonded with said first surface to define a first pocket capable of receiving the article, said first and second panels having a first edge and a second edge opposite said first edge, and said first pocket spaced from said first edge by an amount sufficient to prevent damage to the article when said folded mailer is processed by postal processing equipment.
- 16. The mailer of claim 15 wherein said first panel is joined to said first panel along a fold line, and said first and second panels are folded along said fold line for adhesively bonding said first and second surfaces.
- 17. The mailer of claim 15 further comprising:
a flap joined with said first panel by a fold line extending along said second edge, said flap capable of being secured with said second panel for closing said second edge.
- 18. The mailer of claim 17 wherein said flap is adhesively secured with said second panel.
- 19. The mailer of claim 17 wherein said second panel includes a tab slot and said sealing flap is positioned relative to said first panel for securement inside said tab slot.
- 20. The mailer of claim 17 wherein said fold line is configured such that said flap is removable from said first panel.
- 21. The mailer of claim 17 wherein said flap may be unfolded along said fold line so that said flap extends outwardly from said second edge.
- 22. The mailer of claim 15 wherein said first surface includes a first layer of a coadhesive and said second surface includes a second layer of said coadhesive, said first and second layers of coadhesive adhesively bonding to define said first pocket for the article.
- 23. The mailer of claim 22 wherein said first layer of said coadhesive is applied to said first surface in a first pattern having a first uncoated area and said second layer of said coadhesive is applied to said second surface in a second pattern having a second uncoated area, said first and second uncoated areas registered with one another to define said first pocket.
