Claims
- 1. A system for delivering radiation from a radiation source to a body, comprising:
- means for generating an RF pulse;
- means for generating an injector pulse; and
- means for changing a phase between said RF pulse and said injector pulse.
- 2. A system according to claim 1, further including means for performing an intensity modulated radiation treatment.
- 3. A system according to claim 2, said performing means including means for delivering an auto-sequence of a plurality of field segments.
- 4. A system according to claim 3, said phase changing means configured to change said phase between delivery of said plurality of field segments.
- 5. A system according to claim 4, including means for measuring delivered dosage.
- 6. A system according to claim 5, including phase changing means including means for determining when said delivered dosage has reached a predetermined level.
- 7. A system according to claim 1, said phase changing means comprising means for delaying said injector pulse relative to said RF pulse.
- 8. A method for delivering radiation from a radiation source to a body, comprising:
- generating an RF pulse;
- generating an injector pulse; and
- changing a phase between said RF pulse and said injector pulse.
- 9. A method according to claim 8, further including means for performing an intensity modulated radiation treatment.
- 10. A method according to claim 9, said performing means including means for delivering an auto-sequence of a plurality of field segments.
- 11. A method according to claim 10, said phase changing means configured to change said phase between delivery of said plurality of field segments.
- 12. A method according to claim 11, including means for measuring delivered dosage.
- 13. A method according to claim 12, including phase changing means including means for determining when said delivered dosage has reached a predetermined level.
- 14. A method according to claim 8, said phase changing means comprising means for delaying said injector pulse relative to said RF pulse.
- 15. A radiation therapy system, comprising:
- an apparatus for delivering a predetermined radiation dose to a patient; and
- a controller configured to vary a phase between an RF pulse and an injector pulse, whereby substantially no radiation is delivered to said patient when said RF pulse and said injector pulse are out of phase.
- 16. A radiation therapy system according to claim 15, said controller configured to delay said injector pulse relative to said RF pulse.
- 17. A radiation therapy system according to claim 16, said delay being about 2.8 milliseconds.
- 18. A radiation therapy system according to claim 15, said controller configured to provide an intensity modulated treatment.
- 19. A radiation therapy system according to claim 18, said controller configured to control delivery of an autosequence of a plurality of field segments.
- 20. A radiation therapy system according to claim 19, said controller configured to change said phase between delivery of said plurality of field segments.
