Claims
- 1. A process of forming an image comprising contacting a photographic element comprising a coupler having the formula: ##STR11## wherein: R.sup.1 is substituted aryl or alkylthio;
- R.sup.2 is an unsubstituted alkyl group; and
- X is H or a group capable of being released on oxidative coupling with a color developer;
- with a p-phenylenediamine color developer.
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein R.sup.2 contains from 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, alkylthio, and arylthio.
- 4. The process of claim 1 wherein R.sup.1 or R.sup.2 comprises a ballast chain.
