Claims
- 1. A process for manufacturing a silver halide photographic element, comprising the strep of coating at least one coating layer on at least one side of a support, each said coating layer having a wet thickness of from 35 .mu.m to 80 .mu.m, said at least one coating layer forming at least one hydrophilic colloid layer at least one of which is a silver halide emulsion layer, said at least one hydrophilic colloid layer having a total gelatin content from 2.20 g/m.sup.2 to 3/10 g/m.sup.2 per side of said support and a silver halide content of not more than 3.5 g/m.sup.2 per side of said support in terms of silver.
- 2. The process of claim 1, wherein said wet thickness of each said coating layer is within the range of from 40 .mu.m to 70 .mu.m.
- 3. The process of claim 2, wherein said wet thickness of each said coating layer is within the range of from 45 .mu.m to 70 .mu.m.
- 4. The process of claim 3, wherein said total gelatin content of said at least one hydrophilic colloid layer is in an amount of from 2.40 g/m.sup.2 per side of said support.
- 5. The process of claim 4, wherein said total gelatin content of said at least one hydrophilic colloid layer is in an amount of from 2.50 g/m.sup.2 to 2.80 g/m.sup.2 per side of said support.
- 6. The process of claim 4, wherein said silver halide content of said at least one hydrophilic colloid layer is in an amount of from 1.5 g/m.sup.2 to 3 g/m.sup.2 per side of said support, in terms of silver.
- 7. The process of claim 6, wherein said silver halide content of said at least one hydrophilic colloid layer is in an amount of from 2.0 g/m.sup.2 to 2.8 g/m.sup.2 per side of said support, in terms of silver.
- 8. The process of claim 1, wherein said photographic element is formed with an outer hydrophilic colloid coating layer and at least one silver halide emulsion layer located between said support and said outer layer.
- 9. The process of claim 8, wherein a ratio of said wet thickness of said silver halide emulsion layer to that of said outer hydrophilic colloid coating layer is within the range of from 6:4 to 9:1.
- 10. The process of claim 1, wherein said silver halide emulsion layer contains a silver halide grain comprising substantially silver iodobromide and having a multistrata structure with a silver iodide content of san outer strata being at least 10 mole % smaller than the silver iodide content of an internal strata of said silver halide grain.
