Claims
- 1. A single use processing substrate, comprising;
a first cut-resistant layer having a first surface area and including an absorbent ply and a thermoplastic material ply; a second layer having a second surface area and including an absorbent ply and a thermoplastic material ply; and a third layer including an absorbent ply.
- 2. The single use processing substrate of claim 1, wherein the second layer is disposed below the first layer.
- 3. The single use processing substrate of claim 2, wherein the second layer is secured to the first layer by adhesive.
- 4. The single use processing substrate of claim 3, wherein the third layer is disposed below the second layer.
- 5. The single use processing substrate of claim 4, wherein the third layer is secured to the second layer by adhesive.
- 6. The single use processing substrate of claim 5, wherein the third layer absorbent ply absorbs fluids when cut-through of the first and second layers occurs.
- 7. The single use processing substrate of claim 6, wherein the first layer includes a plurality of apertures therethrough.
- 8. The single use processing substrate of claim 7, wherein the apertures are circular in shape.
- 9. A single use processing substrate, comprising;
a first cut-resistant layer having a first surface area and including an absorbent ply disposed below a ply of thermoplastic material; an unfolded second layer having a second surface area and including an absorbent ply disposed above a ply of thermoplastic material, wherein the first layer is secured to and substantially centered on the second layer in at least one dimension such that a portion of the second surface area is laterally disposed outside of the first surface area; and a third layer including an absorbent ply.
- 10. The single use processing substrate of claim 9, wherein the second layer is disposed below the first layer.
- 11. The single use processing substrate of claim 10, wherein the second layer is secured to the first layer by adhesive.
- 12. The single use processing substrate of claim 11, wherein the third layer is disposed below the second layer.
- 13. The single use processing substrate of claim 12, wherein the third layer is secured to the second layer by adhesive.
- 14. The single use processing substrate of claim 13, wherein the third layer absorbent ply absorbs fluids when cut-through of the first and second layers occurs.
- 15. The single use processing substrate of claim 14, wherein the first layer includes a plurality of apertures therethrough.
- 16. The single use processing substrate of claim 15, wherein the apertures are circular in shape.
- 17. A single use processing substrate, comprising:
first means for providing a liquid-permeable, thermoplastic, cut resistant surface having holes therein; second means disposed adjacent the first means for providing a liquid-absorbent portion; third means disposed adjacent the second means for providing a liquid-impermeable portion; and fourth means for determining cut-through of the processing substrate.
- 18. The single use processing substrate of claim 17, wherein the means for determining cut-through of the processing substrate includes a third layer including an absorbent ply.
- 19. The single use processing substrate of claim 18, wherein the third layer is attached to a bottom surface of the second layer thermoplastic material ply.
- 20. The single use processing substrate of claim 19, wherein the third layer absorbent ply absorbs fluids when cut-through of the first and second layers occurs.
- 21. The single use processing substrate of claim 17, wherein the second means is disposed below the first means.
- 22. The single use processing substrate of claim 21, wherein the third means is disposed below the second means.
- 23. The single use processing substrate of claim 22, wherein the fourth means is disposed below the third means.
- 24. The single use processing substrate of claim 17, wherein the first layer includes a plurality of apertures therethrough.
- 25. The single use processing substrate of claim 24, wherein the apertures are circular in shape.
- 26. A single use processing substrate, comprising:
a paperboard surface; and a liquid impervious barrier disposed adjacent the paperboard surface.
- 27. The single use processing substrate of claim 26, wherein the dry basis weight of the paperboard is at least 150 pounds per 3000 square feet.
- 28. The single use processing substrate of claim 27, wherein the dry basis weight of the paperboard is at least 200 pounds per 3000 square feet.
- 29. The single use processing substrate of claim 26, wherein the liquid impervious barrier is polypropylene.
- 30. The single use processing substrate of claim 26, wherein the liquid impervious barrier is low density polyethylene.
