Claims
- 1. A processor unit for a data-processing-aided electronic control system in a motor vehicle, comprising:
a scalable computing unit; and a vehicle interface unit; wherein the scalable computing unit and the vehicle interface unit are separate structural components which form a functional structure of the processor unit.
- 2. The processor unit according to claim 1, wherein the functional structure further comprises a communication coprocessor, as a third separate structural component, for performing data communication operations between the scaled computing unit and pertaining periphery.
- 3. The processor unit according to claim 2, wherein the communication coprocessor contains a bandwidth adapter, as a separate structural component therein, via which incoming messages are transmittable at a transmitting frequency which differs from a receiving frequency.
- 4. The processor unit according to claim 2, wherein the communication coprocessor contains a hardware implemented Gateway processor, as a separate structural component therein, disposed in the functional structure.
- 5. The processor unit according to claim 3, wherein the communication coprocessor contains a hardware implemented Gateway processor, as a separate structural component therein, disposed in the functional structure.
- 6. A processor unit for a data-processing-aided electronic control system in a motor vehicle, comprising:
a scalable computing unit; a logical interface; an automobile interface unit coupled to the scalable computing unit via the logical interface; and a communication coprocessor coupled to the scalable computing unit and the automobile interface unit via the logical interface.
- 7. The processor unit according to claim 6, wherein the scalable computing unit comprises:
a CPU; and storage memory.
- 8. The processor unit according to claim 7, wherein the storage memory is at least one of a RAM, a flash memory and an EEPROM.
- 9. The processor unit according to claim 6, wherein the automobile interface unit comprises:
a first section having SFP-specific modules; a second section having automobile specific interfaces; and a third section having vehicle series/model specific interfaces.
- 10. The processor unit according to claim 9, wherein the SFP-specific modules are at least one of a voltage supply, a power watchdog and a plug connector, the automobile specific interfaces are at least one of an I-CAN, a M-CAN and a serial interface, and the series/model specific interfaces provide a connection point for at least one of a KIN bus, additional CAN interfaces, diagnostics, telematics and serial interfaces.
- 11. The processor unit according to claim 6, wherein the communication coprocessor comprises:
a bridge and router unit for converting individual frames from a first layer interface to a second layer interface; a virtual zero device for storing filtered-out data frames; a bandwidth adapter for evaluating one of time-related data and quantitative data of received data frames; and a Gateway processor for modifying received data frames.
- 12. The processor unit according to claim 6, wherein the processor unit is disposed in at least one IC chip.
- 13. A vehicle, comprising:
a vehicle body; a processor unit arranged in the vehicle body for controlling vehicle functions, wherein the vehicle processor unit comprises:
a scalable computing unit; and a vehicle interface unit; wherein the scalable computing unit and the vehicle interface unit are separate structural components which form a functional structure of the processor unit.

BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
