Claims
- 1. An apparatus for protecting at least one component on an object from excessive heating during curing of paint on a localized area of the object by exposure of the localized area to a heat source, the apparatus comprising:an air pocket formed adjacent the at least one component, the air pocket having an inlet and an outlet, wherein the air pocket is formed with protective material covering the at least one component; a cold air source for generating cold air; and a tubing, coupled to the cold air source and inserted through the inlet of the air pocket, for directing the cold air from the cold air source into the air pocket, wherein heated air within the air pocket flows out through the outlet such that air circulates through the air pocket to maintain temperature of the at least one component below a predetermined temperature when the localized area of the object is exposed to the heat source.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the protective material is aluminum foil taped around the at least one component to form the air pocket.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the tubing is a flexible vinyl manifold having a plurality of holes for directing cold air from the cold air source into the air pocket.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the cold air source is a cold air gun having a vortex tube assembly.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the object is a vehicle, and wherein the at least one component includes a window glass coupled to the vehicle via a rubber molding and a sealer.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the object is a vehicle, and wherein the at least one component includes at least one of a plastic door handle, a trim, a chrome, a headlight, and a tail-light.
- 7. An apparatus for protecting at least one component on an object from excessive heating during curing of paint on a localized area of the object by exposure of the localized area to a heat source, the apparatus comprising:an air pocket formed adjacent the at least one component, the air pocket having an inlet and an outlet; a cold air source for generating cold air; and a tubing, coupled to the cold air source and inserted through the inlet of the air pocket, for directing the cold air from the cold air source into the air pocket, wherein heated air within the air pocket flows out through the outlet such that air circulates through the air pocket to maintain temperature of the at least one component below a predetermined temperature when the localized area of the object is exposed to the heat source; and wherein the object is a vehicle, and wherein the air pocket is formed by a panel and an inner liner of the vehicle.
- 8. An apparatus for protecting at least one component on an object from excessive heating during curing of paint on a localized area of the object by exposure of the localized area to a heat source, the apparatus comprising:means for forming an air pocket adjacent the at least one component, the air pocket having an inlet and an outlet, and wherein the air pocket is formed with protective material covering the at least one component; means for generating cold air; and means for directing the cold air into the inlet of the air pocket, wherein heated air within the air pocket flows out through the outlet of the air pocket such that air circulates through the air pocket to maintain temperature of the at least one component below a predetermined temperature when the localized area of the object is exposed to the heat source.
- 9. An apparatus for protecting at least one component on an object from excessive heating during curing of paint on a localized area of the object by exposure of the localized area to a heat source, the apparatus comprising:an air pocket formed adjacent the at least one component, the air pocket having an inlet and an outlet; a cold air source for generating cold air; and a tubing, coupled to the cold air source and inserted through the inlet of the air pocket, for directing the cold air from the cold air source into the air pocket, wherein heated air within the air pocket flows out through the outlet such that air circulates through the air pocket to maintain temperature of the at least one component below a predetermined temperature when the localized area of the object is exposed to the heat source; and wherein said air pocket having said cold air circulated therein makes contact with said at least one component to be protected from excessive heating.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the air pocket is formed with protective material covering the at least one component, and wherein the protective material is aluminum foil taped around the at least one component to form the air pocket.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the tubing is a flexible vinyl manifold having a plurality of holes for directing cold air from the cold air source into the air pocket.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the cold air source is a cold air gun having a vortex tube assembly.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the object is a vehicle, and wherein the at least one component includes a window glass coupled to the vehicle via a rubber molding and a sealer.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the object is a vehicle, and wherein the at least one component includes at least one of a plastic door handle, a trim, a chrome, a headlight, and a tail-light.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the object is a vehicle, and wherein the air pocket is formed by a panel and an inner liner of the vehicle.
