Claims
- 1. An Arp4 protein which specifically binds immunoglobulin A and which has the following amino acid sequence beginning with the N-terminus: ##STR1## and variants, subfragments or allelic derivates thereof which specifically bind Immunoglobulin A, substantially free of non-immunoglobulin A proteins with which it is naturally associated.
- 2. A kit for binding, separating and identifying immunoglobulin A comprising said protein or subfragment thereof according to claim 1 and at least one ancillary reagent that facilitates said binding, separation or identification.
- 3. A composition comprising said protein or subfragment thereof according to claim 1 in an amount sufficient to effect absorption of immunoglobulin A, together with a carrier or support.
- 4. A protein (called Arp) with apparent molecular weight of about 42 kDa (on sodium dodecylsulpate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis) which specifically binds immunoglobulin A, and subfragments thereof which specifically bind immunoglobulin A, substantially free of non-immunoglobulin A proteins with which it is naturally associated.
- 5. A kit for binding, separating and identifying immunoglobulin A comprising said protein or subfragment thereof according to claim 4 and at least one ancillary reagent that facilitates said binding, separation or identification.
- 6. A composition comprising said protein or subfragment thereof according to claim 4 in an amount sufficient to effect absorption of immunoglobulin A, together with a carrier or support.
