- selecting a customer profile record assigned to said called party;
- installing said customer profile record at a central office switching system serving said second link;
- identifying a voice transmitted via said first link;
- identifying the location from which said voice is transmitted via said first link; and
- transmitting said identity of said location via a third link connected to said network.
- 16. A method according to claim 15 wherein said voice utterance of a name emanates from said called party.
- 17. A method according to claim 15 wherein said voice utterance of a name emanates from the party initiating said request.
- 18. A method according to claim 15 including the step of re-transmitting the identification of said location.
- 19. A method according to claim 18 wherein said re-transmission comprises wireless transmission.
- 20. A method according to claim 19 wherein said wireless transmission is received and acted upon by a vehicle.
- 21. A method according to claim 20 wherein said vehicle is a police vehicle.
- 22. A method according to claim 15 wherein said identity of said location is transmitted via said third link as a data signal.
- 23. A method according to claim 22 including the step of transmitting voice signals from voice communication between said first and second links via said third link.
- 24. A method according to claim 23 including the step of recording at least a portion of said voice signals transmitted via said third link.
- 25. A method according to claim 15 including the step of establishing a voice connection between said first and second links subsequent to selecting a customer profile.
- 26. A method according to claim 15 including the step of establishing a voice connection between said first and second links prior to selecting a customer profile record.
- 27. A method according to claim 15 wherein said customer profile record is identified by a virtual office equipment designation.
- 28. A method according to claim 15 including establishing a voice connection through said network between said first and second links.
- 29. A method according to claim 28 wherein said third link is bridged to said voice connection.
- 30. A method according to claim 28 wherein voice dialogue over said voice connection is recorded.
- 31. A method according to claim 30 wherein said recording is made from a signal over said third link.
- 32. A method for processing a call in multilink telecommunication network comprising the steps of:
- assigning subscriber profiles to subscribers associated with a first of said links connected to a first switching system;
- identifying through speech signal processing the subscriber profile of one of said subscribers to whom an attempt is made to initiate a call via a second link;
- identifying through speech signal processing a person attempting to initiate said call via said second link; and
- processing said attempt to initiate said call in a manner based at least in part on processing information in said subscriber profile relating to the identification of said person attempting to initiate said call.
- 33. A method according to claim 32 wherein said subscriber profile is selected by a virtual equipment designation.
- 34. A method for processing a call in multilink telecommunication network comprising the steps of:
- assigning subscriber profiles to subscribers associated with a first of said links connected to a first switching system;
- identifying through speech signal processing the subscriber profile of one of said subscribers to whom an attempt is made to initiate a call via a second link;
- identifying through speech signal processing a person attempting to initiate said call via said second link; and
- processing said attempt to initiate said call in a manner based at least in part on processing information in said subscriber profile relating to the identification of said person attempting to initiate said call and on the identity of said one of said subscribers.
