Claims
- 1. An isolated glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of a naturally-occurring mammalian GLP-1 receptor protein or of a fragment thereof, wherein the receptor protein or fragment is encoded by a cDNA molecule that is isolated from a mammalian library and comprises the nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 3, and wherein said receptor polypeptide binds GLP-1 with a K.sub.D of less than 100 nM.
- 2. The isolated GLP-1 receptor protein polypeptide of claim 1, wherein the cDNA is isolated from a pancreatic islet cell library.
