Claims
- 1. A sealed containment and dispensing package for flowable products comprising an aperture forming means wherein a portion of said aperture forming means is folded over to create a flap member which is sealingly attached to a portion of its own surface it covers which when the flap member is folded back it produces an outlet aperture in its surface.
- 2. The package according to claim 1, wherein said aperture forming means comprises a breakaway tip member made of thermoformed plastic and is integral with such sealed containment package.
- 3. The package according to claim 2, wherein said breakaway tip member is located on said flap member.
- 4. The package according to claim 3, wherein the outermost surface of said breakaway tip member is sealingly attached to the portion of its own surface it covers.
- 5. The package according to claim 2, wherein the aperture forming means is made independently of said sealed containment package and subsequently sealingly integrated with said sealed containment package.
- 6. The package according to claim 5, where a portion of said aperture forming means includes a cap thermoformed adjacent to said breakaway tip member to fit over the base of said breakaway tip member to reclose the containment package after it has been opened by the formation of said aperture.
- 7. The package according to claim 1, wherein said sealed containment package has as its aperture forming means a pre-made hole pattern in one wall of the flap member which when folded over is peelably sealed to said portion of its own surface which it covers, at least completely encircling said pre-made hole pattern.
- 8. The package according to claim 1, where said sealed containment and dispensing package has as its aperture forming means a pre-made cut pattern in one wall of said flap member which when folded over is peelably sealed to said portion of its own surface which it covers, at least completely encircling said pre-made cut pattern.
- 9. The package according to claim 1, where said sealed containment and dispensing package has as its aperture forming means a pre-made fault line score pattern in one wall of said flap member which when folded over is peelably sealed to said portion of its own surface which it covers, at least across entire said fault line pre-made score pattern.
- 10. The package according to claim 7, where said sealed containment and dispensing package is a pouch style package.
- 11. The package according to claim 8, where said sealed containment and dispensing package is a pouch style package.
- 12. The package according to claim 9, where said sealed containment and dispensing package is a pouch style package.
- 13. The package of claim 9, where said sealed containment and dispensing package is a tube style wherein the hinged flap member with said protrusion forming a flat topped drum shaped cap member is a flat end seal on said tube.
- 14. The package according to claim 9, where said aperture forming means is made independently of such sealed containment and dispensing package for subsequently sealingly integrating it with such sealed containment and dispensing packages.
- 15. A sealed containment and dispensing package having an aperture forming means made of thermoformed plastic comprising a pair of hinged members, one member being a flap having a protrusion forming a flat topped drum shaped cap member, the other member having a mating protrusion of similar shape to said cap member with an aperture in its flat top surrounded by a generally flat rim so located that when said flap with the drum shaped cap member is hinged over the mating protrusion with the aperture in its flat top rim meets with the flat inner surface of the cap where by virtue of a preapplied peelable adhesive to at least one of the flat surfaces meeting they are peelably sealed together completely about said aperture.
- 16. The package according to claim 10, where a seal pattern is disposed in said pouch style package adjacent said outlet aperture to create flow baffles.
- 17. The package according to claim 11, where a seal pattern is disposed in said pouch style package adjacent said outlet aperture to create flow baffles.
- 18. The package according to claim 12, where a seal pattern is disposed in said pouch style package adjacent said outlet aperture to create flow baffles.
- 19. The independently made aperture forming means according to claim 5, wherein said aperture forming means includes a thermoformed plastic cap to fit over the base of said breakaway tip member, a thermoformed hinge between said cap and said breakaway tip member, said cap being sealed to a breakaway tip portion of said breakaway tip member when hinged over and fitted on said base so that when said cap is hinged back it pulls said breakaway tip portion from said base to create said outlet aperture.
- 20. The package according to claim 7, wherein the aperture forming means is made independently of said sealed containment package and subsequently sealingly integrated with said sealed containment package.
- 21. The independently made aperture forming means according to claim 20, wherein said aperture forming means includes a pair of thermoformed plastic hinged members, one member being a flat topped drum shaped cap member, the other member being said one wall and having a mating protrusion of similar shape to said cap member with said pre-made hole pattern in a flat top surrounded by a generally flat rim so located that when said cap member is hinged over said mating protrusion so that said generally flat rim of the mating protrusion meets said flat inner surface of the cap, where by virtue of a peelable adhesive means on at least one of said generally flat rim or said flat top said generally flat rim and said flat top are peelably sealed together completely about said pre-made hole pattern.
