- 6. A recording apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said conveying means consists of a pair of rollers.
- 7. A recording apparatus for providing a variable top margin comprising:
- (a) beam forming means which, by application of a recording signal, forms a beam modulated by the recording signal;
- (b) deflecting means which deflects the beam obtained from said beam forming means;
- (c) an image forming member which, upon irradiation with the modulated and deflected beam, forms an image corresponding to the recording signal;
- (d) first conveying means for conveying said image forming member;
- (e) position reference signal generating means which generates a position reference signal indicating that the image forming member conveyed by said conveying means is at a predetermined position;
- (f) timing means for measuring a certain time interval after said position reference signal is generated by said position reference signal generating means, wherein said timing means is adjustable to vary the time interval to be measured; and
- (g) second conveying means for conveying a transfer member on which the image formed on said image forming member is to be transferred once the certain time interval is measured by said timing means.
- 8. A recording apparatus as claimed in claim 7, wherein said image forming member consists of a photosensitive drum, and wherein said reference signal generating means includes detecting means which detects when a particular portion on said photosensitive drum has arrived at a predetermined position.
- 9. A recording apparatus as claimed in claim 7, wherein said photosensitive drum has a seam.
- 10. A recording apparatus as claimed in claim 7, wherein said timing means consists of a one-shot multi-vibrator.
- 11. A recording apparatus as claimed in claim 7, wherein said second conveying means consists of roller means which begin to be rotatably driven after the certain time interval has been measured by said timing means.
- 12. A recording apparatus for providing a variable top margin comprising:
- (a) beam forming means which, by application of recording signals, forms a beam modulated by the recording signals;
- (b) deflecting means to deflect the beam obtained from said beam forming means;
- (c) an image forming member which, upon irradiation with the modulated and deflected beam, forms an image corresponding to the recording signals;
- (d) first conveying means for conveying said image forming member;
- (e) storage means for storing the recording signals to be applied to said beam forming means;
- (f) signal read-out means which reads out the recording signals stored in said storage means and applies the recording signals to said beam forming means;
- (g) read-out reference signal generating means which generates a read-out reference signal for commencing the read-out of the recording signals by said signal read-out means;
- (h) timing means for measuring a certain time interval once said read-out reference signal is generated by said read-out reference signal generating means, wherein said timing means is adjustable to vary the time interval to be measured; and
- (i) second conveying means for conveying a transfer member on which the image formed on said image forming member is to be transferred once the certain time interval has been measured by said timing means.
