Claims
- 1. Thermodynamic apparatus comprising, in combination, a spindle, and a plurality of self-contained closed-loop heat pump means for transporting heat from a first reservoir of lower temperature to a second reservoir having a relatively higher temperature than said first reservoir, said heat pump means each being attached to said spindle and extending radially from said spindle in a pattern rotationally balanced with respect to said spindle, said heat pump means each being blade-shaped, extending generally longitudinally along the spindle, and means for selectively securing a variable plurality of said blade-shaped heat pump means to said spindle.
- 2. Thermodynamic apparatus comprising, in combination, a spindle and a plurality of self-contained closed-loop heat pump devices attached to said spindle and extending radially from said spindle in a pattern rotationally balanced with respect to said spindle; each of said heat pump devices including releasable latch means on one edge for engaging said spindle, said heat pump devices each being blade-shaped, extending longitudinally along said spindle, and having radially extending fluid flow conduits.
- 3. Apparatus as in claim 2 in which said latch means includes a pair of longitudinally-extending projections on said edge of said heat pump device, a pair of projection-receiving flanges on said spindle, and means for holding said projections under said flanges.
- 4. Apparatus as in claim 3 in which said spindle has a plurality of longitudinal grooves, each for receiving one of said heat pump devices, and a pair of rings fastened around said spindle to form said flanges.
